Is it original music from Samurai Champloo or rerecorded? Don't get it. And don't dig the art covers and the concept of 4 separate LPs.

I think it's fair. It's technically more limited to not get that record in the box.

I have the indie green/gold that CH pressed and it sounds great for me (and I had several of the bad VMP pressings).

Succumbed to the FOMO. I don’t have any microphones albums right now but I always enjoy acquiring a total discography so I don’t have to hunt. 25 bucks an album isn’t terrible nowadays.

Consider Afterpay in the 4 installments every two weeks.  You’ll spend $67ish on way dumber shit over the course of 2 weeks, I can almost guarantee it.  And while I’d never suggest to flip Microphones, the reality is that this boxset has mostly sold out in < 24 hours, and won’t be any cheaper down the road elsewhere.  Unless you’re truly hurting on funds or trying to save for something more pressing, this feels like a worthwhile scenario to act now, dwell later.  (Also consider that the money is going straight to Phil and his label which always feels good.)

The other non ROTM TMV albums are pressed at Optimal so you should be fine.

I only have De-Loused that they refunded for the pressing issue so it's tempting but I also just don't feel like dropping that much right now, it definitely seems like these will all be accessible at local shops now though so that's good news

Based solely on the fact that I listened to the MOV once and the CH once (years apart) the CH is superior. I've not done a side by side and my setup has changed for the better since, but I'm guessing the CH is superior. Having typed all that, the MOV sounded just great. So...I dunno.
