  1. Finally watched The Martian. Great movie. Oh and I saw Sisters. I thought it was hilarious. Loved it!
  2. Awwww kitty is super cute and loveable. It's awesome that he likes to snuggle. I'm sure he will do fine and transition well. Kittens are always a little crazy, but they mellow out as they get older.
  3. A couple of things that I have found helpful with new kittens. - Typically with a new kitten, I would seclude it in one room until it familiarizes itself with your environment and routine. This could help ease anxiety for both you and the new kitten. Keep it dark and cozy so that they sleep most of the time. Cats like dark small spaces which would explain why she hides under stuff. - Make them a nice warm bed to sleep in or a blanket to lay on. Every time they try to sleep on you, put them on the bed/blanket. Reinforce good behavior with treats, food or petting. - Make sure they have a stuffed toy to cuddle/play with. Make sure it's big so it seems like there is another cat with them. This will help with the anxiety of being alone all the time. - Keep them as busy as possible with toys. Lots of toys are good. Tie some string to the end of a stick, make some paper balls to toss around. Cats love anything. Mine love to play with bottle caps, straws, string and anything that rolls. - Play with your kitten, feed her and then leave for work. Typically she will be so tired after playing and eating that she wont even notice you left. A good 15 minutes of playtime is recommended for cats each day. - Scratch posts are good. You can teach them to use it by dangling some string against it. They will play and scratch at the string, and thus enforcing the habit of them scratching on the scratch post instead of your furniture. Make sure to place the scratch post next to the furniture as well. This will show them that the post is for scratching, not the furniture. - I've taught my cats that when I snap my fingers or clap my hands once, they are doing something they shouldn't and they will typically stop and run away. It's important to set boundaries with pets or else they will terrorize whatever they can. Cats hate any loud sudden noises so you can clap your hands and scare them away or squirt them with some water in a spray bottle when they do something bad. I find the clapping/snapping is much better as it's easier to catch them in the act and clap my hands at them. Give them a treat when they do something good. Hope this helps a little bit. Good luck!!!
  4. Really surprised and excited they are coming to San Antonio. Buying tickets asap tomorrow when they go on sale.
  5. Yeah, black hills are pretty cool though. My sister-in-law lives in Rapid City, and used to have a cabin in the Black Hills that I stayed in for a few days. Got to see a lot of cool shit. Don't get to see anything like that in San Antonio. lol Texas is pretty flat and lame.
  6. Thank-you for putting it in spoiler tags. I'm going to try and avoid it if I can. If I can't, then I'm sure the movie will still be great.
  7. Going to the Stanley Hotel is definitely on my bucket list. Hell, going to Colorado is still on my bucket list. And what's up with people WANTING to spoil shit? C'mon, really? I guess some people just like being ass hats. Seems like everyone is going to see Stars Wars before me anyway. I'm sure I'll find out what this big spoiler is even though I don't really care.
  8. Open! Open! Open! I just love seeing everyone's wonderful gifts. Secret Santas did a good job this year!
  9. I'd like to throw in a few. Artifex Pereo - writing and will be recording with Kris Krummet again in the Spring Stolas - currently writing and they are changing up their lineup. They let go of their lead singer, and now their drummer, Carlo, will take over on main vocals. Should lead to some pretty exciting stuff. Grandview - Really just hoping they come out with something for 2016.
  10. Dang it! I might try to get something tomorrow, or just pass this year. I have way too much Christmas shopping left to do.
  11. So.... Santa went well above and beyond anything I was expecting!!! I friggin LOVE everything I got! I'm gonna do this in spoilers that way I don't take up a whole page showing you guys what I got, because it is awesome and deserves some special treatment. Seriously I am beyond ecstatic about everything I got! SS nailed it for me with this package. Also, I must say the packing job was phenomenal. I'm definitely keeping it just in case I ever have to ship some bombers. Very well done! As far as who my SS is, there weren't any hints, and having the package ship from Colorado threw me off since most of the items in the package were from Cali, but I think I figured it out thanks to this post: So THANK-YOU THANK-YOU THANK-YOU THANK-YOU Toki!!!! You did a fantastic job and I adore everything!!!
  12. My BF just texted me that I got a huge Secret Santa box from VC this morning!!! I'm ridiculously excited, and can't stop smiling! Already sending out a huge THANK-YOU to my SS whomever you are. I'll get some pictures of it tonight, and post tomorrow.
  13. I'm still watching as well. Evan Peters' story line and character acting are the highlight of this season for me. The actual hotel and the murders need to consistently remain the focal point. Anytime they go off on a tangent the story becomes bland and boring.
  14. One of the most emotional season finales I think I've ever seen. Agreed!
  15. I would be willing to send some items as well, just let me know.
  16. Sex & Sunsets - Tim Sandlin Rant - Chuck Palahniuk Harry Potter Series - JK Rowling The Vampire Chronicles - Anne Rice Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad Perfume: The Story of a Murderer - Patrick Suskind
