This thread is insane for so many reasons and I barely read any of it.
 
I will say this:
 
I buy vinyl to listen to. Most people do, or at least that is one of the reasons they buy them. I don't really care if people are going to keep collecting variants of shitty pop-punk records, as long as it helps vinyl stay relevant. If only audiophiles and people with good systems bought records, it would become less and less profitable for labels to release it. If 500 kids owning 5000 brand new records helps to keep labels pressing stuff on vinyl, then i'm totally okay with it.

I grabbed the Tennis Court 7" from Dearborn Music a couple weeks back. I'm VERY glad to hear the entire LP is getting a release. I'll hold off to see if it's getting a US release. If not, I'll just grab the one from .ca

Taylor Swift falls under the "there's a time and a place" category for me. It might not be for me, but I'm glad someone out there likes it and I don't see anything wrong with that.

I can't tell you the last time I cared about whether to music I was listening to was relevant or not. I just go ahead and listen to what I like to listen to whether anyone else likes it or not. Crazy, but true.

My thing is that I really don't care about popularity or not. I get what people are saying about it driving up the price but there's a lot of factors involved and I don't think it's just popularity overall that drives the price up.

This same thing happened to me last year with a different album (Junta) but when I contacted Strictly Discs, who I'd ordered it through via the mail, last year they got me an email address to contact and the label took care of it, but this year they said that Capitol had told them that they had no remaining stock to fix issues.

Seeing vinyl in a regular old department store would be fun for me to be honest. I would immediately take me back to when I was a kid and every department store had a big ass vinyl section.

Thought I'd add another picture. My favorite record store gave me their RSD banner today so I hung it and finally put my Roger Waters signature next to it!

The profit doesn't matter to me, it's whether or not you bought something just to turn around and sell it. The intent pisses me off more than the profit amount because that item could have ended up in a real fans hands instead of that of someone with no interest in it whatsoever outside of possibly making money on it.

Pretty sure the acoustic is still up on victory's webstore. I know, it's Victory, but that's the only place I've seen it.
