Bro, come on. Bro. Just be real. If you came on here and were just honest and said that you bought 2 sets, one to flip and one to keep, I think most people would have just let this died. Coming up with a cockamamie story just makes you look like a tool.
With that said I bought two sets, but I plan on giving the Metal Box to my mom and the Bagged version to my dad. If they both hit the ebay it's all my mommy and daddys fault.

That Fifth Hour Hero 7" is crucial. I hope everyone gets one. Such an underrated band.

Must be nice to have never heard a pop or click. Congratulations on having an entire collection of mint records. Hope nobody takes your advice and upgrades their gear to avoid pops and clicks because higher quality equipment that is set up properly will bring out all the extra nuances in the vinyl, including the defects.

As far as what's getting remastered/released being a sign that it's gone too far, I disagree.
When anything gets re-released or remastered on any format, for me it's a matter of "one mans treasure...". While I personally might not have any interest in a remaster/re-release of The Gambler, I bet it made someone else's day. The Mo-Fi Silver Label releases are a good example of this IMO. I was super excited to see the re-releases on stuff like Cyndi Lauper and Tears For Fears material whereas some others might think it's comical. By the same token, there's plenty of stuff showing up in the bins that I have less than zero interest in and wish other records were in their place.

Somehow a Zeppelin LP finds its way onto my table at least once a day. I know it's cliche but goddamn....that band never gets old.

Funny you mention this!
Var update for March:
PAINT IT BLACK test pressings arrive TODAY!
How excited am I? Yes.
COLISEUM tests arrive next week? One song is a PERE UBU cover? Yes, yes it is.
RADON "28" LP getting re-mastered by Dave Eck at Lucky Lacquers? Where have I heard this scenario before? Yes.
I HATE MYSELF LP: waiting on Jon to approve the ref. Yes, I am still as excited as pie on a pigeon that I am waiting on him and not the oher way around. There's a first time for everything... and this proves it, scientifically.
SAMIAM "Yafmo" is at the plant. For real. The LP jackets and inserts are already here... and the CDs arrive April 1, which is odd, but... yes.
THE BOMB: Nate Powell showed us some sketches. We all liked one the very best and so did he. I cannot wait to see the final paining / art that comes from this.
CREEPOID, A WILHELM SCREAM, THE TIM VERSION are all finishing up albums recording. And I thought 2013 was going to be mellow!
I am forgetting things. Yes!
I have no records by Yes. Yes!
-- I got asked to participate in a split 7" with a politically-active German band on one side. I was asked whether they should sing in English instead of their native tongue as they would normally do. I sheepishly had to admit that if they wanted 'mericans to give a shite, then they would probably have to croon in the language of the yank. Do you agree with that assessment?
Oh yeah, Crusades is recording in April.

Much of what is pressed these days isn't superior sounding to anything. I don't think he discovered he wasn't an audiophile so much as analog is practically dead and the format suffers because of it. I can relate to that for sure. I'm getting tired of listening to older records only to put on a newer one and realize just how bad it sounds. It's not that cut and dry, of course, but it's close enough.

All this fuss over Blink-182's worst* album. Weird.
*This is of course not including Buddha, which is a steaming pile of shit, but also not really a proper release.

vinyl causes people to freak out about the most random albums. Look at Third Eye Blind. LOL

Alkaline Trio. I'm betting they are the current record holder for regrettable tattoos in the indie / punk scene.

I don't see ANY reason to speculate on the band being broke. They got by fine before and are on a major now. Unless you know that they have developed a taste for caviar and $20 French bottled water, I don't see it.
They are making so many posters cause people keep buying them. Pretty simple.

Weight it and use this site. It's super easy. I've shipped tons of things internationally through the USPS, never had any problems.

chiefwahoo reacted to steventangent in OG pressings of Hum's You'd Prefer an Astronaut available here 2/25?!?!
There are two copyrights involved in recorded music. One is for the work itself, one is for the recording. The band, having created the work, holds the copyright. Very often, record labels hold the rights to the recording (though sometimes the bands do own their own masters).
Reproducing a sound recording, or publishing sheet music or lyrics, or covering (this last one is actually more complicated still) - those require a "mechanical license."
Things become further complicated when labels are acquired by other companies.
What happens to these copyrights could be negotiated differently for each band, and subject to provisions regarding time and company acquisitions, among other things.
Bottom line is, it would take lawyers with knowledge of recording contract case law to untangle this web of shit. Asking the band is nice, and I don't like that they feel like they were shafted, but there wasn't necessarily any wrongdoing here. Or there was. I don't know, I'm just some asshole on the Internet, just like the rest of you.
