  1. Guess I'm not gonna try this yet. Why in the world does anyone still use KRM?
  2. That teaser sounds great. Been on and off with this band forever, they go hot and cold for me so I'm super interested after that clip.
  3. I used to keep 2-3 bags of CD's in my car. Not anymore though as I use the aux or bluetooth for everything now. I haven't found a need to use a CD in years now.
  4. Carbon copy of everything Opeth has done since Watershed....I don't understand what this band is trying to accomplish... Are they going to progress further? Take another leap? Just grab whatever cash they can until they fade out? Forgive me if I'm not impressed. (way to make me waste my 1000th post, stupid Opeth >:| )
  5. Much better than the first track. Still not enough of a jammer to order yet though. Gotta hear the whole thing. But I dig that this one sounds more like he HM I know from Earth Pushed Back.
  6. Looks great! Love the more frosted look compared to most clears. Pumped I ordered this one!
  7. How can you know it's a masterpiece if it's not out yet? The last three albums sucked so (PC was alright, I guess) so it's safe to say this might suck as well. Meaning I won't PO/get until I've heard the thing. I'm begging for a Opeth rebirth... gimme Watershed 2.0 even and I'll be happy.
  8. Hey, Ma was great. U (Man Like) was atrocious. Jelmore was just confusing and bad. Faith is gorgeous. Such a weird mix bag of song, I hope they come together more on the album.
  9. Seems too expensive for a book and 2xlp....The Turnover deluxe book + record was 47 shipped. I'm more interested n that cream shirt tbh...
  10. The Ascent of Everest new songs and PO. Sorry if this was posted, hadn't seen it. Songs sound really great and they are already sold out of the limited edition. https://theascentofeverest.bandcamp.com/album/is-not-defeated
  11. Disagree for the most part. I like how it matches their other covers colored pencil cartoon style. The girl outline is a little cheesy looking compared to the rest, but it looks much better when you squint your eyes a bit. Now as for a cover that ACTUALLY deterred me from buying it, that prize goes to Nothing's last record.
  12. New Loscil track on 6Music BBC; it's sooooo good, really hearkens back to Sketches From New Brighton simplicity and atmospheric qualities. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0006f1w Double LP for sale here. Have not seen an alternative color or package.
  13. New track from Silence in the Snow - Cyn M, Trevor DeSchryver (Wolves In The Throne Room, Lycus, Dispirit, ex-Deafheaven), Nick Bassett (Deafheaven, Whirr, Nothing). "Their dark rock and post-punk influences seep into a melancholy dream, echoing with color and vibrancy while leaving the listener adrift in a trance. Silence In The Snow's 2016 debut album "Break In The Skin", comprised an intentionally minimalistic palette to produce a simple, yet emotionally substantial sound. The album was praised by journalists and fans, earning rave reviews in outlets such a Cvlt Nation and Heathen Harvest. In early 2017, Silence In The Snow's sound dramatically evolved with the inclusion of live drums, shifting towards complex and intricate melodies." https://silenceinthesnow.bandcamp.com/track/crystal-spear Really interesting mix of gaze/postpunk and ethereal. Not sold enough to pre-order just yet (but for those for whould like to) but I'm gonna keep on eye on this group and album. Really liking the singles.
  14. Actually torn on which to go for. Will have to listen to the track later, but that teaser sounds wicked
  15. Was a mega-fan back in the day. Agree that Howard Jones defined the sound of KSE for me forever and always. Heard the new single and am not in the least bit interested. I actually liked Jesse's side project more than KSE with him as lead. https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/times-of-grace/the-hymn-of-a-broken-man/
  16. I actually went into it feeling the opposite. We all know he is still definitely capable of work just as good as 'An Accidental Memory...', and was expecting a piano album on the same par with it, and other contemporaries, like Nils Frahm or Luke Howard. But I agree that the overall quality of the package is enough to keep it otherwise, but a little disappointed with the substance.
  17. I didn't either, until I was scrolling though my old 'best of' lists on RYM and just happened to look them up again!
  18. I'm going to be quite honest; I think this album is incredibly mediocre. Not many tracks really grabbing me as memorable. I'm honestly only keeping this for the beautiful reworked tracks on PW2, and to see if this will hopefully be a grower album. At the moment though there aren't a lot of takeaways.
  19. I've been trying to hone in my record buying lately, and even thin out my collection, to either essentials, or bands I know I'm hype on and can never disappoint me. Trying to get away from owning records I know I'll never listen too again or grown tired of quickly, as I know myself and how my taste is ever changing. edit: btw I'm glad I didn't buy into this; as @Multiverse said perfectly.
  20. New song from The Shaking Sensation! Supper excited to see them still making music. They kind of disappeared for a while after their last album in 2013, 'Start Start Worrying', but it seems they have a new album coming out this coming October on Pelagic Records. If you are not familiar with their work, it's very much inspired by the heavy hitters of the early sound, but they definitely added a lot of emotion and atmosphere to their 2013 album, more than I've heard in any other post-rock albums. Definitely check out their previous stuff. 'Heavy Entity' and 'Anchors' are pure bliss...
  21. Need to set some time aside this weekend to listen. Resonate/Desperate was a top five album in 2013, hoping this is just as killer.
  22. What kind of monster wears flip-flops, with socks on, inside...?
