Oh wow. Listening to this now...words can't fully express all that I am feeling at the moment and with each song. (Thanks majorly to fellow VCer who hooked me up w/ the download)
 
Each Converge record is evidently an expansion and progression on what's been done before. There was an interview (I believe) where the band said that they made music for themselves that they wanted to hear and hence not sounding like anything else that was out there. Sure, the outside musical influences and permeate through...but that's normal expectation and behavior in music. But c'mon, Converge have been able to carve such a special and unique of their own that they've gone way beyond their HxC & Metal roots in their 27 years of existence. 
 
Listening to The Dusk In Us is yet another crux and amalgamation of everything they've done before and still pushing themselves in the sound that's their own and only for themselves. Lucky us that they've chosen to share this gift of art and sound with us. Really, this record is still the heaviness in sound and heart that we know of the band and still pushing thing forward with an emotion that we can all relate to. It's a calculated and freeing exercise in what heartfelt heaviness sounds like.
 
(And just writing all of that shows that I dearly miss writing for music blogs...it's been so long.)
 

Like the others here, wanted it bad for the new art/colorway but couldn't justify the price. Very happy to snag it at 9$.

We know people here say nice things about us a lot. I don't know if you've ever been on the receiving end of something like that, but it's pretty amazing. I try to pass the comments along to the people who answer email, pack up records, etc. so they know you appreciate them. It means so much and we are always grateful when people take a minute to say nice things. 

OP here, hahahahahahahahaha omg you guys are amazing, literally laughing out loud over here, some of them are comedy gold!!

On a serious note, I didn't come up with that by myself, my local vinyl store recommended it, seen them do it as well, and I've been cleaning my vinyl (old and new) with Windex for 2 years now, never had any complaints, they actually always sound(ed) great afterwards. 
 
Soo idk what happened on this one, must've used a different brand than all the other times. Either way, can I get any honest ideas on what to do with this one, I suppose there's residue on it, any careful way to remove that?

To answer your question: the damage is possibly already done, but the best you can do is clean it properly with record cleaning fluid and and remove whatever Windex residue is left on there.

I usually just run mine under the faucet, avoiding the label of course, then wipe clean with a paper towel (Bounty, not that cheap shit).

I usually bulk clean my records in my dishwasher. I can fit almost 30 LPs on the bottom and about 10 7-inchers on the top. If you have a dishwasher yourself, I highly recommend it. Just make sure you fill the detergent compartment with premium gasoline.

It's because you used the "German equivalent" to Windex instead of actual Windex.  Believe it or not most record stores here in the US are starting to include free bottles with purchases.

bleach works best for me, personally.

I've been using Kiwi shoe polish for years with no issue. They have a few different colors but I prefer black so I don't compromise the integrity of the vinyl
 

Try oven cleaner.

Oh SRC is releasing this...  what's the release date? 11/17?  1/24, erm... 3/09.....Maybe 5/11?

To piggyback on what Derek said: No it was not. The /100 "friends and family" variants of Converge records are given out by the band/deathwish personally. Usually a few regular preorders get one thrown in as a "Willy Wonka golden ticket" kinda thing. 
 
I always fill myself with hope when I get my pre-order package but thus far I haven't won the lottery.
 
This is why you shouldn't variant collect Converge. Its a long expensive road and the destination is heartbreak.

It really is perfect cuz SRC gets up and hits the person helping them. It's like their real customer relations.

I've been listening to this album all day, it's awesome! If you're on the fence about buying, you will not be disappointed!
