WTF does that even mean? They didn't like the whole album and just because they aren't some fanboy you feel the need to put them down for an honest OPINION?

Any post more than one paragraph in this thread I skip tbh. If mine's numbered, cool. If not, cool. If your's is numbered, cool. If you're upset your's might not be numbered, cool. If you're upset someone is upset there's might not be numbered, cool. DOESN'T MEAN WE NEED A THESIS ON IT.

The problem is that this is the most selfish, self-centered, self-important and self-gratifying way you could possibly look at this. The fact that it was limited shouldn't have been a selling point for anybody. It seems like the limitation was more of a fact of "we can afford to manufacture 2000 copies of this set with no prior knowledge of how many we can sell" and NOT that you were supposed to be comforted by the idea that you are 1 of a potential 2000 individuals who own a copy of this numbered item and are now part of this exclusive club and that the exclusivity itself should carry some sort of actual value or that it should be valued by the purchaser. That's baby shit. That's vinyl bubble and collector-mentality shit.
Here we have a band whose merch provider fucked up. They saw then that the demand goes WELL beyond the 2000 units. To make their fans happy AND maybe make a bit more money off of a body of work that is a). deeply appreciated by so many b). specialized on a format that has gained popularity and exists in a niche market wherein the value of out of print materials sky-rockets and the scarcity forces fans to choose between nothing and a huge premium to enjoy the product, they press more copies without numbers.
Why shouldn't an album be pressed in the numbers to satisfy the whole or at least the majority of the fanbase who prefer the specified format?
This is the most self-centered problem to have with a vinyl record pressing. They're making more because bands like to sell albums. The vinyl format, especially a special packaging set of 4 LP's is very difficult to have pressed and to afford the production on. So they got the opportunity to see that they could sell more. So they're making more. GOOD!

TheMightyQuinn got a reaction from Duff in PO: Thrice - To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere
Can anyone verify that Thrice has still had tour variants at the last few shows (i.e. NYC, MD, The Norva, etc.)? I thought I saw someone say a page back or so that Dustin said they were gone

Thanks for the heads up. This is ultra-unfortunate, though. I really hope they've got said repress at their Chicago date.

WEAK. This is quite literally the only band that I care enough about to get upset over shit like this. Ideal scenario: do a 2nd press exclusively for those who ordered smoke and send them an ACTUAL "smoke" variant fo free!

Agreed, I just wanted what I paid for, in the end it's the same music, and I walked away with a free Thrice record so all's well ends well.

The acoustic show at fingerprints was amazing. My audio recording here : https://www.dropbox.com/s/nnrbnzfa11p0ie0/Thrice%20Live%20at%20Fingerprints.m4a?dl=0 also, confirmed with the sound guy it was recorded. Hoping the band likes it so they press it on vinyl or release it digitally. Acoustic honestly made these songs come alive. Setlist: Black Honey, Blood on the Sand, Death from Above, Stay With Me, The Long Defeat and then Dustin played Hurricane on his own.

The only song I'm having a little bit of a tough time with on my initial listens is Stay With Me. Just doesn't feel like Thrice to me. Wake Up is also a little tough but I think I like it. Feels like a lot of songs are getting stuck in this "mid-tempo" and streamlined songwriting approach that used to be more rare for them. I don't know. I really like it but I'm not sure I love it.

TheMightyQuinn reacted to Derek™ in PO: Thrice - To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere
Lyrically speaking I hear quite a few duds on the first go. But whether or not it has to do with me only exposing myself to Blood on the Sand (and subsequently setting the bar pretty low), I'm happy to say that I'm enjoying this album a lot more than I thought I would. The energy, hooks, and brevity of the record make this feel like it's tailored for accessibility and easy replays, but that's not a bad thing. I think it's more consistent than Major/Minor. It doesn't hit as hard as Alchemy or Vheissu, but for what it is I think it's a great notch in Thrice's already-impressive belt of studio releases.

The days of aggressive Paper Tigers are gone, after my first two initial listens I'd say it's more in the vein of M/m with some Alchemy thrown in there. I'm not sure if it was my low expectations because of the first 3 released songs but I'm honestly enjoying the shit out of this album so far. Hurricane is the best song on the album but I can see a few others making their way to the top. Musically it's some of the best I've heard from Thrice in a long time, lyrically it's very political and I feel has a lot of deeper meanings rooted in politics. So far digging it more than M/m.

This might be a big maybe but want to feel this out, I bought a second colored version for my co worker because he said he wanted it but didn't have the funds but now says he doesn't like what he's heard and not sure he wants it.... If he doesn't would someone want it here at cost? That's IF he doesn't change his mind and take it.

This was super helpful. Thanks! Thrice has been my favorite band since The Artist in the Ambulance and my favorite records of theirs are Vheissu and TAI.
Maybe I came across a bit negative on my last post- I totally didn't mean to. There's really no way Thrice could "lose me."
