ethanpricington reacted to hallowken78 in Every Time I Die - Album 9
I'm seeing the indie exclusive as Opaque Lime. 2 x LP:
1. Dark Distance 2. Sly 3. Planet Shit 4. Post-Boredom 5. A Colossal Wreck 6. Desperate Pleasures 7. All This And War 8. Thing With Feathers 9. Hostile Architecture 10. AWOL 11. The Whip 12. White Void 13. Distress Rehearsal 14. Sexsexsex 15. People Verses 16. We Go Together EVERY TIME I DIE is a loud rock institution committed to leaving an outpouring of chaotic passion and blissful malcontent all over their records and on the stage. With boiling charisma and unrelenting energy to spare, the Buffalo, NY band manages not one but two near-impossible tasks. They’ve survived two decades as an underground entity cherished for coloring outside the lines, and contrary to most career arcs, continually improving with each successive album as they charge ahead. ETID makes a glorious hardcore-punk noise. Alchemized by a swampy summoning of Southern rock and coarse poetry, the music swirls beneath sardonic and clever wordplay, cementing them as leaders, not followers.
The band’s ninth studio album, Radical, is 16 tracks of peak-ETID, including raucous new anthems. They deliver what you have come to know and love and then diverge into new paths. To say that “All This And War” featuring guest vocals by Josh Scogins from The ‘68 is absolute brutal heaviness is an understatement. It’s an addictive punch in the face, you’ll want on repeat. The boys then run off to explore the dark haunted woods of a more somber and melodic side in the track “Thing With Feathers” featuring Andy Hull from Manchester Orchestra.
Radical proves with every track that it is a distillation of the strengths of their past, injected with their unyielding revelry and signature sarcasm while cognizant – and fiercely combative – of the present state of world affairs. -

We can take it to the Etid thread but while I think the album is gonna be amazing, based on the songs released so far, we’ve heard about 5/6 from the new album, I don’t get a heaviness from it

ethanpricington got a reaction from Royce in PO NOW: Deafheaven - Infinite Granite (08/20)
This is the classic instance where someone who is completely unaware of a band, becomes aware at a time where coincidentally said band decides to shift their sound and polarize their fanbase. And typically that someone ends up enjoying the band a lot.
That someone, is me.
Bye, bye 👋

Pretty sure I saw Mitch make a comment on IG that early bird ticket buyers would get a download of the new album (presumably upon release). But that would indicate it should be out before that show takes place.
Isn't Keith separated/getting divorced? Could've been hold ups surrounding plans if stuff was going down with that...

Yah I’m curious what the delay was. Various members on various podcasts saying “soon” / “next week” etc to some degree of an announcement and just crickets.
Also really curious what the TID The Season line up is gonna be. I got tickets cause 2019 was so fun I didn’t wanna miss it even though the bands aren’t announced yet. Haha.

ethanpricington reacted to Vega in PO NOW: Coldplay - Music Of The Spheres (October 15th)
Actually thinking about it, I probably agree. Mylo Xyloto has some great songs, but the production sucks and some of the tracks are pretty big miscalculations. That album is still very interesting to me though, as in I've never found any info about one behind the scenes aspect: when they made Mylo and uploaded some snippet videos and gave some interviews from the studio it sounded like they where making a very quiet record (Wedding Bells, and as a general vibe at that time their christmas track Christmas Lights) which would have been quite a fitting follow up to Viva La Vida. At some point during production they seemed to have decided to go in an electronic direction instead of an acoustic one. Would love to know if the label had anything to do with that or if that was just where they wanted to take it. But to be fair to them, this may have kept them on the mainstream radar that they have managed to stay on until now.

No songs released that I can find, although his Spotify banner has changed to the album art so something must be coming? And apparently it features a lot of the same musicians from Cuttin' Grass so I'm definitely interested.

Yes! I remember watching that doc thinking to myself: "Wait, they're really trying to spin Grant & James not being there as a positive?" Never bought it. Even if Grant & James were theoretically to write the same parts Tim did, they're tracking of the parts would be slightly nuanced based on their playing styles. So I'm really hoping the fact that all are involved now, will lead to a more UO sound.
Never heard/knew this! But makes sense. I always put alot of blame on Matt Squire. The dude wanted to cut all the riffs/breakdowns (or in his words "that shit"). But I will say i really enjoyed 4-5 songs off Erase Me ("No Frame" might possibly be in my Top 5 UO songs ever). But I feel like the new tune has some really good production and hoping it continues throughout the entire album.

ethanpricington got a reaction from booms528 in PO - John Mayer - Sob Rock (July 16th)
Didnt each of the limited pre-orders list a July 16th ETA? Has anyone received shipping confirmation who got either of the 3 limited variants? Thinking about grabbing the standard release at my local shop just so I can listen to this thing for the first time through.

ethanpricington got a reaction from copelandkid in PO Now! Underoath - “Erase Me” (Out April 6th)
I guess I’m just a sucker for loud guitars and breakdowns. But this 1 billion percent better than most everything off Erase Me. And at the very least it’s a promising hard right turn back to much heavier guitar driven stuff. Stupid Matt Quire ruined almost everything from that album, dude literally said he wanted them to drop all the riffs/breakdowns. So count me in for this new sound!
