I just met up with Gregg from Shy, Low to get a copy of Hiraeth before they go off to Europe to tour. So stoked! This band is incredible!

We've heard from one too many people now about getting stiffed from The Mylene Sheath on their "The Four Trees" 2XLP repress. Customers paying but never getting their orders, spotty responses or no response at all from them on order status... it is so unbelievably frustrating to watch a record label shortchange some of your fans who throw down their hard earned money on a record only to receive no response whatsoever or equally as bad, half assed excuses. If you are one of the folks out there who did finally receive your order, please recognize that there are folks out there who still haven't. We hear from them all the time, and we've had enough.
We aren't the type to air our dirty laundry in public and never really have but it's become increasingly clear that this reflects poorly on our band. That is not acceptable. We have done our best to serve our fans with the dignity and respect they deserve for 14 years and actually feel more than decent about how we have operated on that front.
While we figure out how to proceed, please accept our apology. We are not responsible for pressing records, shipping them, keeping customers apprised on the status, etc., but we HAVE become increasingly sensitive to people throwing out excuses and we very genuinely hope that the above doesn't like one. We are sorry.

Yeah, and I really wish they'd put it on a 7" sometime.  Really glad I caught it the only time I've been able to see them.  That last vocal line is fucking epic too:   "I am what I always was:  gleaming and empty". 
 
 

Europe wins the post-rock game hands down.  It's literally almost like a different planet out there for this style.  You guys all really need to get over to Dunk once and just see for yourselves.  People are quiet.  They pack houses.  And they eat the music up.  It's fucking incredible, and it's such a shame that bands that are from the USA struggle to get 10 people to a show, but will pull 100 in Europe. 

My copies from DW arrived today. Perfect perfect perfect. 
 

I think people are comparing this to Sunbather because it's so uplifting and full of major key jams, as well as the fact that they have "interlude" songs in between the black metal stuff.  Sunbather is it's own thing, though. 
 
If your tastes are the early material, you're probably not going to like this album because this album is full of major key bliss jams, not unhinged aggression serving as a catharsis for personal struggles and pain.  As they talked about in the interview, the band is healthy now.  This is what healthy, happy Deafheaven sounds like.  I'll take it, and more please!

Yeah kinda bummed I missed the /80 but I just want it to sound good, so I'll probably get the bone eventually.  I do like the splatter.  I was at work still while this went live.  So it goes. 
 
Remember guys that A1KA also probably has these in poly lined inner sleeves.  They don't fuck around on quality.  So, you're going to get a good product for the price.

I have zero problem with being wrong, and there was quite literally zero whining; I just don't understand why it's so hard for you to simply say "Actually check again, he does in fact use a floor tom" like any well-adjusted adult would when correcting someone in this situation.  You just have this predisposition to dig into people and make it an insult, and I just don't get why or where that comes from.  Nobody who is truly happy inside speaks to others that way.  I will concede it is kind of comical how triggered you get over things, but I know that's not a peaceful place to be, so I do feel bad a bit about it.  Even here in the response, you're trying to stir up more drama with your quote-musician-quote insult.  Grow up man, you're better than that.

Waking Season was what first hooked me; they ended up on my Facebook somehow and it blew me away.  This was sometime around when I first heard "Red Forest" as well.  Funny. 
 
I famously hated Tertia at first lol, but now I hold it as their finest record I think.  Can't wait to hear what they've got coming next. 
So good.  I hope to one day catch the opening trio live, but I'm not terribly confident in that.  Maybe at a 20th anniversary show for the band haha. 
 
 
Also...  another odd thing about Caspian that I didn't really ever pick up on until maybe a year or two ago, is that their drums are only the kick and snare.  No toms.  So unique.  Thinking about playing like that gives me anxiety haha because I love toms so much, I don't know how drummers can do it without them.  It makes me feel like trying to play post-rock without delay or reverb pedals!

Right now!  The variant is /500 so I want to get it done ASAP.  Two other dudes from this thread were supposed to join in but I haven't heard from them in a bit now.  PM incoming!

Yeah I'm glad my buddy pushed them so hard.  The other band he was repping was Ghost Island who you should check out too.  I ordered the fog vinyl for this though, can't wait!

I don’t think either of you was being a gentlemen, but the hostility towards you isn’t isolated to this single member in this single thread, it’s all over this message board, so the most obvious pattern I see is you.
 
I think some of the stuff people have said to you is pretty crass and other things just silly or amusing but they’re usually in response to things you’ve said or done and you don’t take the high road very often.
 
I’m not trying to be holier-than-thou and I’m sure I’ve made a remark or two about you myself over the years but, again, you have to ask yourself: are these people saying these things to me for no reason or am I providing justification?
 
As I’ve said both here and other threads, I actually like having you around, you post some good info in the Mondo threads and elsewhere and I do find some of your replies to things amusing but sometimes it’s like you’re being an ass just to rile people up and I don’t think that’s cool. 

This is probably true.  While the ads are just some simple banner ads, I never go back to websites that ask me to turn adblocker off.  :::shrug:::
