He definitely flirted with fascist imagery. I think that's different than actually being a fascist. Darby was an insane kid who was interested in many idealogies, while trying to forge his own artistic identity, but I've never read anything that made me think he was a Nazi. When he came back from England he had his hair in a mohawk because he got so into Adam and the Ants. Either way, like I already said, we all decide our own tolerances. I'm not expecting all artists I like to be great people. I still love the Misfits and Danzig is a little dick. Being a metal fan, I struggle with that all of the time.  Either way, I don't give a fuck. Like what you like. I wasn't, way back in the thread, trying to convince anyone to not like Whirr. I just almost bought it and then remembered that I only liked Distressor and then I remembered about the bullshit that went down. Move on.

I made the same point about the book earlier in the thread. It's annoying. The book is fuckin cool but you seriously can't read any of it. I don't get the design decision on that part. It's a shame because it's all so awesome. White pages with white lettering...

Mine came in Saturday it’s a dark blue marble. It’s such a great record. I’m digging the new stuff and excited for more. 
 
Side note did anyone get the Seeing Means More Than Safety 10” they had on tour? I picked up what was labeled as red but is basically clear and sent them pics and they didn’t know anything about it. Anyone have an idea?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Tool. The lyrics are extremely complex and without a solid grasp of the Fibonacci sequence most of the words will go over a typical listener's head. There's also Tool's uncommon time signatures which is deftly woven into their characterization - Maynard's personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these songs, to realize that they're not just music- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Tool truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Maynard's famous song "Hooker With A Penis, " which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Maynard James Keenan's genius unfolds itself on their record players. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have an Ænima tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

It was really really good! At first it was hard, for me at least, to hear any of the noise that Dom was doing but after a few songs, first couple with Nothing singing, it turned to Jesu singing and then they all left and Dom got on the mic and destroyed. I'm sure unarting was there recording it so it should be on YouTube soon. I'll post when I find it. I thought it wasn't going to be as good as it was. It's like Dom just always wanted to be in a band hahah. 
 

20th anniversary show was incredible. Great to see current Hospital acts and not just a homage to history. I was able to snag the "Buhda Strangeled in Vines" tape and the insert has the history of the origin of the label. It also has unreleased tracks from 1997-2004-2017 limited to 175
