  1. the NAD is a pretty good amp at its price point, my shop is an authorized dealer and I'm pretty impressed for the price. If you have a receiver without a phono stage already it might be more affordable to buy a nice preamp instead, get a rega fono mini 2ad, also gives you the option to digitize your collection and it's a really good phono stage it will be a noticeable upgrade from your previous receiver for only about $175.
  2. Had to grab the mayday, it has since sold out, any word on the coathangers exclusive variant popping up anywhere?
  3. great price on a 2nd state, I'd agree find any old copy and stick it in there if you really want to complete it. Doesn't matter, Yesterday and Today is not a sonic marvel, the late 70s/early 80s purple labels are the way to go if you want a listening copy Found a Jonathan Richman in the shrink and a shaded dog living stereo Chopin out of the $1 bin at a couple thrifts this past week, so good stuff still shows up on occasion
  4. The Skull Snaps reissue on Mr. Bongo that came out a couple months back is really good, nice packaging, flat pressing and sounds great. I can't compare to an original or the scorpio, but I'd guess since members of the band were involved this was pressed from a better source than the scorpio. Well worth the $25 price tag
  5. I'm really happy, nice linear notes and sound quality, don't like how it's 4LP in a wide single pocket but $70 for 4LP on a major label isn't bad. I will say I prefer the sundazed mono for the 3 International Submarine tracks from Safe At home, have yet to have a shootout for the regular album with my original press but my OG has some marks so the new press is at least quieter. But I bought this for all those extra Gram tracks and that delivers
  6. I traded in a dragonball blu ray I was given at the trade show a few months baqck and got $6 trade so I grabbed the cloud colored version with the 7" and it could be the upgrade from the 2M red to the 2M blue since selling my OG but this pressing sounded better, best I've heard it and I spent lots of time with the CD when it first came out. Grab a copy if you can joyful noise was almost sold out even on the black so might not want to wait too long
  7. thanks to everyone who ordered from us, I pulled all your orders off the floor they will be packaged up tomorrow and shipped out monday. It really means a lot to me, it scored me points with our owner and helps me continue getting a paycheck doing what I love
  8. Just got our leftovers up, we will get the images to go with it soon, but here is a link to what is left: https://store.vinylren.com/new-vinyl/?sort=newest&page=1
  9. crazy long day, worked almost 10 hours at the record shop but it was epic. Had a couple local acts play great sets and then All Them Witches played a killer set, I had to wait until the end of the day to buy anything but I was able to get my top 3: Breeders, Byrds and Nothing, there was more I wanted but that's all my wallet will allow today. We have a bunch of leftovers including some titles that have been requested i'll try to post tomorrow when we get them up online
  10. They just need to press this on a Cocaine white 7" and it will be the crown jewel in every Star Wars collection
  11. That Habibi is tempting, selling for less than normal copies too. I heard that album like 3 months after it came out and it was already OOP. "Detroit Baby" is the jam
  12. Emperor Tomato Ketchup is a similar vibe, I also recommend Transient Random- Noise Bursts With Announcements I grabbed Vol. 1 today, sound quality is fantastic. My copy was a little dished but it tracks through so I can deal
  13. boo you got me all excited for another new release, cause my body is ready after have you considered punk music. It probably matters to someone, but I can't get down with TA
  14. They were pretty damn good, hadn't got a chance to see them before. Played a nice mix of older material and songs from the current album. They had some rarities but they were expensive, $20 for a numbered flexi (from downward years to come?), the lbgt splatter goe was $50 and they had one other at $30. I just grabbed a copy of dance on the blacktop ($25) and since I tipped him he asked if I wanted the last /200 VMP instead so I went for that, surprised its not on discogs yet. Of course I went to tie my shoe and the record was not inside the gatefold and went straight on to the cement, so now I have the one of a kind lipstick and asphalt merge variant (it looks like it should be ok i'll play it tomorrow)
  15. Goddammit I want to buy but can I really justify spending $30 on a record I already have, the flexi is just going to be a repress of the cmj flexi huh?
  16. bummer our order at my shop showed up a week late, and they shorted us the indie exclusive and its now discontinued i'll probably just suck it up and buy the black one since it seems silly for me to not use my discount and pay extra for a colored variant, I'm just disappointed
  17. The budget bins were kind to me yesterday, could not believe these were priced so cheap when everything else was so overpriced: Wilson Pickett - The Exciting Wilson Pickett (original mono in shrink) Al Green - I'm Still In Love With You Jr. Walker & The All Stars - Home Cookin' Millie Small - Sweet William 7" James Phelps (Soul Stirrers) - Love Is A 5-Letter Word 7" Marva Lee - Can't We Talk It Over 7" $1 each and buy 2 get 1 free at that, could not believe it. Been hunting that Pickett forever and never seen an original in the shrink. Y'all got to check out that James Phelps single it's so damn good. The Marva Lee was the only severely underpriced of the 7" but all were worthy additions to the collection
  18. to answer your question a record with light visible scratches that do not affect play are considered VG+. Usually has to be deeper or more plentiful scratches that cause some surface noise to fall under VG. I never grade an open record as mint just to cover my ass in case of a picky collector, I usually undergrade in general to avoid this
  19. hows life on your side? Hopefully still buying too many records and getting a better night's sleep
  20. How's life with everyone? They closed down my record store, I took a raise and moved 2 hours west to Overland Park, Kansas to work at the store there. Got my own place and just spent a week in New Orleans at a record store conference, took home like 35+ free records and a bunch of swag including a guitar signed by Billy Gibbons. Life is pretty damn good, I'm just tired all the time now
  21. didn't get any extras, but for $21 ppd for 6 albums I'm not going to complain. That /100 I Am Satan was worth the price of entry
  22. played one side, wasn't feeling it. In the shrink, $14 shipped within the US
  23. I'm in for vol. 1, already have 2 and 3. Hope to see them roll out the rest of the albums, I have several but its expensive to collect them if you aren't patient.
  24. grabbed a splatter, this went up when I was out of town but I passed on the deluxe for the last 2 and I have my regrets. Looking forward to this, outside of a couple singles I gotta keep the discography going
