oh god there are variants! You are killing me Juan I didn't even need the white vinyl copy I got last month. This is not necessary to own on vinyl, but it's cool if you are a fanboy like me, it's just excerpts from the prime christmas special

I got my copy today and it was worth the wait. Obviously not an audiophile release but Ryan Smith did a great job as always. It's a single pocket jacket with a 2 sided insert. Disc 1 is standard black Disc 2 is a Blue/Black Marble. Both discs were flat but off center. Disc 2 was not as bad but it was a tight squeeze on to the spindle on disc 1. This is a great way to get all their stuff in one purchase (minus live and studio outtakes). I'd highly recommend ordering a copy if you have not done so already. There have been some really great reissues this year and this up there as one of my favorites thus far.

Just listened to my stereo '65 record club pressing of A Love Supreme. I compared this to the newly received Kevin Gray pressing. The overall sound is close, but the '65 pressing is a bit more lively, especially the sounds of the percussion. I've noticed this with most recent pressings compared to originals. The new are slightly muted and less colorful. This is most apparent when comparing Blue Train. This one isn't as noticeable and is a perfectly good alternative if you can't track down a '65 pressing. If you already have the first, or I suspect most early pressings, you really don't need this one. Just one non-audiophile's opinion.

I got the ALS AAA myself yesterday, played it twice already. It was the best I've heard the album, I have not heard an original stereo but I have heard an original mono. I highly recommend anyone who enjoys this album to pick up a copy, not sure how many more times this is going to get cut from tape.

The unauthorized releases are the rights holders generally, put up a Metallica boot it's going to get taken down, pick an artist who doesn't care or have the money to patrol ebay and they don't get policed.

I found them to be very inspiring in their banter on stage when I saw them both in store and that evening at a local venue. They all just had great attitudes, and I'm glad they still have Max playing guitar, I had some great conversations, his eyes lit up when I told him the venue had a leslie amp they could plug into. That evening I saw 4 people carrying that monster out onto the stage and they sounded fantastic. If you want to see their in store, I guess it's been 2 years my how time flies

I gotta check out the War & Treaty, truly amazing humans so full of love. They played my record store last year and introduced themselves with big embracing hugs. I have a signed CD Healing Tide, they took it literal when my coworkers told them to sign it "to the guy behind the register". Glad they are getting some traction and have signed with Rounder for their new album.

If you haven't bought the new record by The War and Treaty yet, what is your problem? So much talent and honesty. Different variants out there and a signed one from Grimey's, though it's not letting me put my state in at checkout. You really need to watch this short performance.

I also love BoV, and think it sounds great. Abyss on the other hand, despite having some great songs, has terrible production, IMO, and the vinyl doesn’t save it in that regard. It’s actually a tough listen for me. Abyss has the lowest DR of any of her albums. Its so dense,  dirty, and supposed to represent this dream like hellscape (so dynamics would seem important) to begin with, no need to ruin it with excessive mixing/mastering.

It's gotten out of hand, see every scorpio release. Quiet vinyl does not make an audiophile pressing, hell a well mastered record does not make an audiophile pressing. Living Stereo shaded dogs/mercury living presence classical records are audiophile, Belafonte "At Carnegie Hall" is audiophile, those boring ass direct to disc sheffield lab records are audiophile. I'd say Cowboy Junkies "Trinity Sessions" is audiophile, but a record needs to be well recorded and then well mastered to be considered an audiophile record. Some of the stuff MOFI/AP release aren't even truly audiophile because they weren't well recorded to begin with, as I stated earlier it's a real small cross section of well recorded and enjoyable music. I like all sorts of music that isn't well recorded but just because it sounds better than it has ever sounded doesn't make it audiophile if it was recorded in a less than ideal room without using top notch recording technology and proper mic placement (hell some people debate music recorded with more than one mic discredits it from being audiophile in certain parts of the internet)

bubble wrap/stiffeners can prevent seam splits in most cases, but they try to cut down on overhead. I got my black copy from the FA store today, still waiting on the VMP. I wish I had gone through the hassle and cancelled I could have bought a pearl copy for less than the price of  the black and got it a week sooner, it is what it is though

If y'all into art/show prints...Landland just released one that was available at the band's 2020 Midwest shows. I received my copy just the other but have not taken pics yet...let's just though that it's a lot more stunning in person.

    And it's ridiculously inexpensive.
