jeromium got a reaction from whoa in [PO Soon] TOOL - Fear Inoculum 5x12" w/etching ULTRA-DELUXE BOX SET AT THE LOW LOW PRICE of $810...cuz TOOL hates their fans and someone needs to maintain Maynard's Vineyards
Hype faded and I don't need any physical media at this point, not even vinyl. I guess that's because I'm more picky about what I buy lately, due to reduced vinyl listening time, budget, and having combined household with my lady who is not a  Tool fan. And after about 3 spins I determined it's 7/10 material, nicely done but I'm not gonna play it often enough going forward. I've changed and they haven't really.

See I refused to buy it because of this and hearing that yet again the 2nd edition is over 30 means I'll probably stick with the copy I half inched off the net. I'm not 5 so the idea of a bunch of cards with pictures of human cross sections that I'd look at once doesn't appeal. I'd feel bad but they don't need my money.

If any artist would have a Wal-Mart exclusive variant in 2019, it would 100% be Bon Jovi.

In Discogs, add all of those labels or artists to a list and select "Notify me of new submissions related to this list." You'll get a daily email of all releases that were added the previous day. It works fine and you'll get all the info you want and more, but currently there's no way to select an option for filtering. For example, filtering out the new submissions to only show what's new on vinyl.

Good idea. I'm not sure if you're familiar with or use rateyourmusic.com (RYM), but it's the primary tool I use for cataloging what I've listened to, what I'm looking forward to, as well as making AOTY and other lists. And I discover a ton of stuff from other users' lists. Because so much of what I listen to is digital these days, physical media sites like Discogs aren't useful for tracking that stuff. RYM displays an "Upcoming" list on my homepage, alerting me of upcoming releases based on my collection. It's not specifically label-based, but artist based for things I own or have cataloged in any way. Unfortunately this also includes singles, and artists you may no longer care about but still have cataloged, so you have to wade through that. It also depends on things actually being entered into the database. I personally add new releases to the database several times a week after learning about them elsewhere. Anyway, the site is ugly and primitive, but the userbase is large and I've been using it for 12 years so I'm invested. https://rateyourmusic.com/~sidewinder03

True, but somehow I've not found this to be a problem on RYM because people aren't as vigilant about cataloging reissues.

Submitted. As a UX designer myself I know it can be hard to get candid feedback form the appropriate demographic - happy to help and good luck.

I don't have 10, even 5 vinyl savvy friends I discuss any of this with. Most peoples eyes glaze over and I can tell they don't care. He went to a place where people would definitely care. And I'm pretty sure he's gonna do it even if you don't think it'll be useful.

Because Amazon doesn't really take care of its employees despite making billions. Also, on a micro level, they eat sales away from smaller record retailers.

Hey y'all, I'm hoping I can get a few members to participate in this questionnaire I'm doing for an evening class. I'm old but we have to keep learning, right? I'm a UX designer but I'm taking a class on research methodologies. I'm conducting a few interviews about my topic, streaming music, and I'm in a bit of a pinch with conducting actual in-person interviews before tomorrow. In lieu of that, I'm hoping I can get a few participants to fill out this online questionnaire. It's all fill in the blank style, might take about 15 minutes. And if you want to share a photo of yourself taking the questionnaire, that'd be great too!

I'm not sure you know what entitled means.  When you purchase something, you're not being entitled for wanting to receive that item in a reasonable time frame.  They were obviously chill enough to wait it out.

The point about the book being hard to read is valid, but it's art and I think that the OP appreciates it in that sense.  As far as it being unnecessary baggage, well, yeah... Buy the standard edition.

But still, don't gotta be so mean about it.

Ok really guys? If anyone can show me a bad Alex G song I will give you my entire record collection.... Can't wait to look like an absolute genius and be a millionaire in 50 years because of my rare records and wealth of knowledge on the world's future most respected musical artist. All I can say is that if you don't like every single thing ever released by this person/band then you haven't listened to them enough, simple truth right there.

Only the sleepers will sleep I suppose

PS. If anyone here is caught using "mediocre" and "Alex G" in the same sentence again I will track you down and fart on your pillows

I played it just before House of Sugar was released, along with DSU, for the first time. I've listened to Trick twice so far, but not much really clicked.

Maybe it'll click more eventually. Despite what I said, I may actually play it again. I played Rocket a lot more than you'd think, because I kept hoping it would turn into something more cohesive, and also I couldn't get enough of Proud, Bobby, and Judge.

Sounded good on my first listen Friday (stream). Nice to hear something that's not just a film score. Gonna need more listens to really form an opinion, but it was entertaining and Patton didn't sound like he was trying too hard.

Yeah. Like right now, on the day of the first on-sale date, within 2 hours of the on-sale time, STUBHUB has between 5 and 140 tickets per section ALL AT INFLATED PRICES from the face value charged on TicketScalpster, in roughly EVERY single section of the venue for the Chicago date.

While the original sale site has between 0 and 5 seats listed in only some sections and everytime you attempted to claim a seat, you get a message saying "Sorry! Another fan has done some magical bullshit that you can't do and fuck yourself and go die in a hole somewhere or pay more fucking money to our buddies who have all the fucking tickets you losing cunt. We hate you and can't wait to see you die."

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going on.

I'm completely out. Why show available seats if they're not fucking available. This is not a system. They should just go back to phone and brick and mortar only orders. This is a complete giveaway to scalpers and ticket brokers.

There is literally a direct channel from Ticketmaster to all third party ticker resell websites. They're just a faction of the point of sale seller now. Its complete and thorough corruption at this point and there's no alternative for the consumer. Just got to be one of those lucky few who get a ticket for face value. I'm waiting in a queue right now. If two tickets cost more than $200 after fees and lies and cons I might have to sit this tour out. It will be the first tour I won't have seen since 2001.
