nah, RJ Crowder stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in pre-orders and never delivering a product. SRC just came in and picked up the pieces.

Yep. Welcome. It's what you get. I only started my spreadsheet this year, but I really want to go back and see if I can create a graph of growing lead times over the years.

Last year the winner for longest order was mewithoutYou - It's All Crazy (Deluxe), with a total of 298 days from order to doorstep. Second place was the ETID/Cave In Split, at 241 days.

My vinyl collection is only preorders. In fact, once the preorder does ship to me, I simply return it and then remove it from my collection. Then I preorder something new to take its place.

Am I the only one that is fed up with so many preordered albums. I am new to the hobby and have a lot of orders that keep getting pushed back! I would rather them put them up for sale when they are in hand. Sorry if this is an old topic of frustration for vinyl community.

I'll be goddamned. A copy of less than jake - losing streak arrived at my house today.  Neat!

What else can it be? Here is this thing we're offering, with your money you're getting an album that is pressed on this specific quantity, in this specific color. Label/band sells more quickly than they thought, so they change those details after a ton of people already paid for a specific set of details. While this exact instance is pretty benign, it happened, none the less. And sure, maybe that wasn't the initial plan, but here we are...
 
If the label/band thinks that might happen, then just be up front about it. Here are these records, we'll let you PO for a week and then press some magical number once we can gauge interest. Or, what most labels do, here are these /250 variants, oh shit, you guys bought them all, here is a different /250 variant.

Exactly. Some people try and treat Discogs like FB Marketplace. Which as a seller, I'm all for community and being friendly with people. But at the end of the day, sellers are paying income tax in some cases and going through all the work to properly package stuff, ship it out, update orders, leave feedback, etc. It can get to be a damn full-time job. So it's a bit frustrating when someone order something and then puts in a note "Hi - anyway you'd take less and refund me some of the money cuz I need it for bills". Freakin get your money right before placing order bud.

Good I'm tired of being the middle man for taxed orders. The invoice fee started adding up way faster when they added that and my feeble mind can't understand that extra money I get isn't mine.
