I wanted to go balls in with the whole thing.  I know that each act really stands on its own but the album enthusiast in me would’ve been annoyed to only hear a quarter or a half of this record at once.

True, good call. I couldn't wait! But, I haven't listened to the full thing at once yet, might wait for the vinyl.

I think the majority of people have less of an actual problem with the show and more of a problem with how the organizers have painted themselves as martyrs, compared what the did to the Black Lives Matter protests, have been saying ivermeticin is a cure, and saying anyone that disagrees is a sheep that lives in fear.  Like I said early, there’s a reason you don’t see certain people involved getting dragged through the mud.

that's fair. that sorta thing is pretty cringeworthy...

I don't understand why a group this popular is letting their stuff go out of print. I never got around to getting 3 and now it's regularly selling for around 50-60 bucks. I didn't even know RTJ2 was out of print.

Edit: I'm also now realizing I own the pink pressing of RTJ2 and I forgot that I did, so now I feel like an asshole owning 2 sought after pressing of this album because I totally bought the TTL exclusive.

want to part with one of them for a reasonable price? 🙂

I missed the TTL copy and have been holding my breath for one to go under $40 on discogs....

Uh...not meaning to add fuel to this clusterfuck...but comparing NYC (or state) to the rest of the country when it comes to any type of response...is a little bit lopsided and uneven and unfair...

As much as people love to say that FL is like little NY...things are a complete clusterfuck here with the vaccine and overall handling of the COVID crisis.

Bottom line in my damn opinion...as it comes to this whole Madball BNB concert thing...people chose to disregard the basic science and stand by the politicized side of things and make themselves outed and known. Sure, it's their choice, but don't start crying and whining that you're being piled on for your skewed stance.

Actually not anymore dude. The first month or so was a mess, but anyone over 16 can get the vaccine now without an appointment. Go to publix lol.

The show was in NYC? The Yankees have 10,000 fans at every game. You think they're enforcing masks? Watch a game on TV and see how many people have masks on. Are they distanced in their seats? Sure. You think they're distanced when they leave the stadium and wait for the train? You can eat inside in a 100 sq ft restaurant with 25 people and no masks. The fact is the whole thing is politicized. Outdoor transmission is rare.

I agree man. I live in Florida (I know...) and there are comparatively way worse things here than the NYC show in the park happening every single day, like normal. Today where I live there is a parade and festival downtown, clubs are open, restaurants are seating a full capacity, sporting events have fans etc, etc. Is this a two wrongs don't make a right scenario? Maybe, I'm not a scientist. But I think it's wrong for so many to point fingers at the bands and crowd who participated in this show and outcast them like they are some sort of domestic terrorist. Get real, we're not enemies here.

For the keyboard warriors in here who are about to try and put me in a corner, go ahead. I still wear a mask everywhere I go and consider myself to be responsible, I know covid is real and still a thing. I've been vaccinated since February, and latest headline I read said one third of the country already is too. I respect people who choose to stay home and not participate in social things (me most of the time), but it's not 2020 anymore, the risk involved with going out in public isn't as bad as it was. Just be responsible.

I told myself I wouldn't participate in this conversation because no one here is changing anyone else's minds...but fuck, here I am 🙄

    This exactly.

I still want it. But that price point is absurd. 2 song black 7" without a jacket came out to over $16 shipped. I jumped on it, because it's limited to /1000 (low for AFI) so I figured it was now or never. It's only going up in price on the second hand market if I don't swallow the $16 and jump on it now.

Now they take that "limitedness" away. Let's say there's 5k or 10k. These will end up on the second hand market for peanuts in a couple of years. And might end up going out to distributors so local shops can order them. Can get that same 7" for half the price now.

It's just shady business practice to get people to jump on a preoder. Then second guess your pressing numbers and raise them, after 1000 customers already committed to what was supposed to be a "limited record".  It's not that we don't want it. It's just an asshole move. Which a lot of us have come to expect out of labels like Rise.

I agree with you that the shady business practices is annoying.  Especially the purenoise model of keeping rare variants aside and then selling them later with a shitty screened cover.  Just dumb.

But for me, ultimately, when a record I want is released I buy it.  If there is a limited variant I will try and get that, if not I'll get whatever is available.  I don't want to wait a couple years and buy it for half the price.  I want it now.

Not intending to knock other people's spending habits or opinion, just sharing mine.

Coming out of message board retirement just to say that if you haven't seen an ETID Christmas show, you're missing out. Being from Buffalo and being big into ETID since 2003, I've managed to hit at least one night every year since they started these in 2006 or 2007 or whenever. Best concert of the year. The last two were unbelievable, especially 2019's 2-night version.

hate5six recently posted 2019's show.  watched it in my living room 3 times already.
