Also, I wonder how Clouds Hill will go about handling the vinyl release this time. Overpriced regular black version first, decently priced colored versions after?

I truly can't stand when unnecessary tracks are tacked onto  the release. Make them digital ffs.

I hope it’s expensive records that seem exclusive followed by better versions in cheaper configurations later.
 
 

Was to be expected. Especially considering how they dodged all questions on Instagram whether individual presses would be available later.
 
It is quite lame and I probably wouldn’t have bought the box set had I known. On the other hand, I kinda enjoy not worrying about grabbing individual releases on colored vinyl. Seem quite hard to find in Europe anyway. 

I've had records warp from window glare and even the heat from a goddamn Wii console. I now live in constant fear, but haven't had any records parish as of late.
 
Take them off the bottom shelf and put some cacti down there, hit up a Black Friday deal for a new shelf, live mas.

Thought the track was super disappointing. This feels like a track 8 on an LP, not a lead single. Ultra Mono was a step in the wrong direction for me; this seems to be a continuation of that. The first two albums are fantastic though, so I'll keep an eye on this and give it a fair shake as more singles drop.

After listening to "In Blur", my feeling is that Deafheaven is generic now.  The thing that made them stand out and really fucking cool was that they put the blastbeats and black metal vocals over the bright, major key pretty parts.  Now they're just another shoegaze band. 

It's not bad, it's just forgettable.  I wanted so badly for the blast beats and screaming to come in at the end of In Blur to push it to the top, and it just doesn't happen.  Feels like wasted momentum.

I totally get the wanting to change thing and getting sick of doing the same thing, but what made them so unique was their "Fuck it" attitude of "Fuck you, basement Darkthrone and Mgla purists, we're gonna put shoegaze and 90's rock over your blast beats" but now they've just gone and become another band in a sea of shoegaze bands. 

The only thing remarkable is the style shift from their previous work.  Nothing stood out, I can't recall as single part of any of the songs right now.  Like I said, it's not bad....  it's good, actually.  Well done, but not memorable.  ::Shrug::   

Lucky you. Wish I could say the same.

I'm also sad I missed this... I think it's one of my favourites too. I saw them live maybe 15 years ago, and despite "I know you are but what am I" being one of their most calm songs, it had some of the heaviest bass I've ever experienced live...
Agreed that 'hunted by a freak' is one of their best. It's one of the few songs I went out of my way to learn to play on guitar too!

Pff, ended up having to pay import duties as well, €21. Add that to the $45 for the record and $25 for shipping to Europe and this is by far the dumbest purchase I’ve made in about 18 years of collecting. Records show some nasty scratches too.

I honestly don't even care that the colors are reversed. That's the absolute least of my concerns. New records, regardless of where or who you order from should never arrive like this. Wish I could say I was surprised though.

If anyone with warped discs or other defects is considering reaching out to CH customer service, I highly recommend doing so. Just had a perfect correspondence asking for a replacement of Ampu LP1 and it’s all being taken care after one mail. They took my adress from my original order and ship it out on monday. Perfect. 

True. And I totally understand the marketing behind it. Just think it’s fairly sneaky and don’t really appreciate it.

It’s not that strange people are complaining, right? The preorder implied these would be the complete studio recordings (turned out that wasn’t the case) on 180 gram vinyl (which apparently isn’t the case). When you charge upwards of 400 + shipping for what’s basically six albums and some extras it’s not that weird that people expect to receive a product as advertised. Especially since we all know the whole 180 grams thing is usually an excuse for companies to actually charge more for a record in the first place.
 
Meanwhile, what really bothers me is that I preordered this thing the day it went up, have not received it yet (or even got shipping confirmation for that matter) while my local record store was selling it on Friday for a slightly lower price than I paid.
