  1. Got mine in the mail today and I am sad to report that it is NOT an inverted lightning bolt. Just regular black vinyl, which is fine, I was taking a chance on it anyway (and wanted Lazaretto). Would have been cool had it come through. What is not cool are the people through PopMarket who people on the board e-mailed that claimed it was going to be that. I see a lot of people returning this and/or upset.
  2. Interpunk just found a few more and put them up. 1 per person. Hurry.
  3. Waffle House in the USA has posted this picture on their Facebook: Belgian Waffles going down!
  4. Collectingvinylrecords.blogspot.com keeps up a pretty extensive list that he posts every Monday of the week's new music releases (including both CD and vinyl). It is probably the closest thing to a calendar you'll find.
  5. With the new update stating that Picture of Nector will be available for "months in advance", makes me think that the remaining 5000 copies will probably will be part of Black Friday RSD
  6. 2xLP at 125g? Interesting. They are still on Warner right? Surprised WB didn't give them the Mastodon or Tom Petty or other type treatment (Deluxe 180g LP at high price with "standard" 140g LP at medium high price)
  7. $24.99 http://www.newburycomics.com/rel/v2_viewupc.php?storenr=103&upc=103-2011057N
  8. Only 3 left.... I am guessing they are releasing these in batches. Makes me wonder how many will be numbered in total. If it is more than 500, I'll be surprised.
  9. So this is the douche behind AP? Does he get his photos done at Glamour Shots? I find it funny that the guy who is "punk" and supposed to be about the scene looks like some preppy frat boy who gets handouts from his parents. Tate is about as Punk as this 'metal' band from the FedEx commercial:

  11. I wasn't trying to call anyone out specifically, but rather with vinyl manufacturing increasing to the record levels, sure there will be some issues but i've just noticed in a lot of threads this has been brought up more frequently lately. In addition, with so many people jumping on the vinyl bandwagon, I am curious how many people will actually clean a new record before playing it, and thinking it has issues, when it really just needs to be cleaned. Also, equipment plays into this as well, but that's a whole other issue. My intent was more of a friendly reminder than anything else.
  12. Each time I see a comment posted about "noisey" records on various threads, it makes me wonder if people are truly taking the time to clean their records *before* (MOV records come to mind that usually have a lot of lint/debris on them) and after each play, and also cleaning their stylus. I am sure there are people who do this routinely and others that likely forget--which could cause a lot of these issues (especially when so many people comment "no noise for me" and then the other half say they do...so I find it hard to believe it is a manufacturing defect 99% of the time). From the New to Vinyl FAQ stickied at the top of this forum (we may need to break it out into its own thread) 1. How do I clean my records? Depending on your budget there are several options to keep your records clean. Listed below are some common options from most affordable to most efficient: 1. A. Brush and cleaner fluid ($15) B. Anti-static brush ($25-$30) http://www.needledoc...NECUSTOMERPRICE 2. SpinClean manual cleaner ($75-150) http://www.spincleanrecordwasher.com/ 3. Record cleaning machine ($560 and up to thousands) http://www.soundstag...g-machine.shtml http://www.nittygrit....com/index.html http://boards.vinylc...eaning-records/ Some people have reportedly been able to clean their records with wood glue: http://www.audiokarm...ead.php?t=99837 You'll also want a stylus cleaner. I recommend the ONZOW Zero Dust. http://www.needledoc...Stylus-Cleaners Some people get the job done with a Magic Eraser: http://www.high-enda....com/Magic.html Edit: Thanks to these 2 for the downvotes for a friendly reminder post! You stay classy San Diego. Shameful Dread chilltown38
  13. FYI...from the TMR and Jack White FB pages: "the Lazaretto ULTRA LP broke the Soundscan record for first-week vinyl sales with over 40,000 vinyl albums sold in the US."
  14. Good thing you checked your e-mail and didn't delay, since it was also posted here, thus nullifying the advantage those who received the e-mail had.
  15. Soundtrack comes out August 5th. You can order it, along with the Soundtrack to Zach Braff's new movie, Wish I was here as a bundle for $49.99 here: http://kingsroadmerch.com/wish-i-was-here/view/bundle.asp?id=947&cid=1700 If you just want Garden State, then you can buy it here for $27.99: http://kingsroadmerch.com/wish-i-was-here/view/?id=5805&cid=1700 If you already pre-ordered Garden State elsewhere and want to get just the Wish I Was Here Soundtrack for $27.99 here you go: http://kingsroadmerch.com/wish-i-was-here/view/?id=5804&cid=1700
  16. Anyone pre-order the new Tom Petty album, Hypnotic Eye? Warner is at it again. A deluxe 180g 2LP version (with extra track ) for $52 and a standard 140g single LP version for $27. Ugh.
  17. Hahaha...that's awesome. You do have to pay $21.89 in tax and $47.11 in shipping if you go that route (grand total $386.98). But still cheaper than buying the Mono box (which you have to pay $23.59 tax and $18.11 shipping---Grand Total of $416.68)
  18. FYI...the digital download and the Infinte Merch splatter ships on 8/19...the Myplay Direct Picture Disc album doesn't ship til September 9th.
  19. QOTSA just opened a new webstore and to celebrate they have a new Bone Geetar shirt by EMEK limited to just a one-time run of 500 shirts for $24.99 Not sure if shirts are your thing, but figured there may be a few people here who would want one before they sell out. http://store.qotsa.com/products/bone-geetar-emek-collaboration-tee
