For these past holidays, since we were not able to have a proper in-person holiday party and whatnot...we did have a Zoom/Teams thing happen...out Sup had us give them a list of stuff we'd be into to gift us. I gave him my Amazon wishlist and a bunch of books I'd been meaning to get. One of the books...which is conducive to this thread...is 'Doomed to Fail'...it's essentially a history and evolution of all things sludge, doom, and post-metal. 
I'm about halfway through it and it's been really good and eye-opening. Getting some great info on bands I didn't know about before and so far made appreciate more some others I did know about. The chapter on Eyehategod was pretty fuckin' great and now I have been on a huge EHG kick. 
Greatly recommend for anyone on this thread and fans of these heavy genres.

Classic, mid-90's Swedish black metal album from Vinterland 'Welcome My Last Chapter' is being reissued on Black Lodge Records. Apparently, this version has been remastered by Dan Swanö at the same studio the album was recorded at over 25 years ago. Releasing February 4th on black vinyl, purple vinyl, and CD.

Shipping to the US was very inexpensive and all together it came to about $30 total.

At their show last night, Ben announced that they're pressing their S/T album to be released this year as a 20th Anniversary Edition, 'but we're Lucero so everything got fucked up.' He said it's scheduled to be out by the end of the year, but supply chain and manufacturing issues might push it to early next year, so then it'll be a 21st Anniversary pressing.
 
I didn't think this was pressed on vinyl originally, so stay tuned!

The Lillingtons and Enemy You have a history that goes back a quarter of a century. You won’t find that in today’s punk scene where there’s so much competition and grubbing for clout on social media, but these bands are binary stars from a bygone era. The two respective singers started out as pen pals (yes, using actual letters and stamps!) and went on to be songwriting contemporaries and labelmates on Lookout and Red Scare. In the world of melodic punk, The Lillingtons and Enemy You are the gold standard. Then David Jones (singer of Enemy You) suddenly passed away in 2015 and bands have been paying him tribute ever since. On “Can Anybody Hear Me” we have The Lillingtons offering up a few EY cover songs and it feels like a family reunion. The first pressing of the vinyl will come on “Jones Hoodie Red” and a portion of proceeds will be donated towards to National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
