I heard it a few days ago and thought it was okay. Not amazing but just okay. Listening again now, I’m really digging it. It’s like the soundtrack to a really dark fucked up Disney movie like Fantasia. That ending to Viscera of Men?! God damn so good! But I’m also high af right now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While I have been enjoying and loving the entirety of the record so far...I have to admit that my most fave stand-out track is "Failure Forever". It's the Converge x Cave In mash-up collab we didn't know we desperately needed...until now. So fuckin' good. 
 

I can't even put into proper words how much this record is blowing me away. 
 
It's all on such a different level beyond anything I could ever know and understand. Frustratingly amazing.

Happy release day. This album is great, really pleasantly surprised! Couldn't really ask for a better Quicksand record in 2021.

You’re right it’s not black and white. 
 
but also, this is not recent behavior. Since whiskeytown he’s demonstrated time and time again a pattern of toxic behavior. There are countless examples that come to mind from my almost 20 years of hardcore fandom. For a long time, me and certainly others wrote it off as rock n roll assholish behavior. But through the spectrum of the NYT article, it’s clear that it’s bigger and more ingrained than that. 
 
he does need help. I hope he truly makes amends and works to better himself (it’s not done after 2 years of radio silence and an apology in the daily mail (of all papers). A redemption story is one everyone loves. I hope he gets one. I’m just not optimistic. 

Best way I can sum it up. A lot of single string type riffs like Slip, but I think this is an entire group effort as it pulls from all their respective projects and influences. 
 
I will say this though - while there are softer Rival Schools elements (only natural as the 98 demos were heading that direction), this record is far heavier than Interiors. Production is excellent too. 

Currently working on a review for an outlet down here in Australia. 

Can honestly say that I think this is their best work since Slip. Has the right balance of all of their best elements, while not sounding like a nostalgia trip.

Tom was arrested after the album was already recorded, then booted from the band. 
 
They recorded it as a trio PRIOR to his arrest because he wasn’t involved with any of it due to his own personal issues, which lead to him being kicked out of the band during the tour when he was arrested for theft.... which all happened after the album was already recorded.

It’s crazy to think about seeing the last Quicksand show with Capone, the same night as the whole gas station fiasco.
 
But yeah, I’m always down for anything Walter does.

If it's not Capone i still hope they have a new guitar player in for this record, because i love the sounds and the songs of Interiors but i really miss a proper second guitar in most of the songs...

This record rules. 

I feel like choosing the closing track as the first single was a weird choice, especially how it doesn’t really fall in place with the rest of the record. Great closer though, but I prefer Genesis. Great track. 
 
 
All in all, fantastic record. So glad Stephen was really back in the fold, you can hear him all over the writing throughout.

I think a lot of people underestimate just how influential Beavis and Butthead was, music-wise. I wouldn't be into a huge amount of music that I'm into if it weren't for that silly show.
