Kept us busy and out of trouble for the last week, that's for certain.  And it added a sizable number of new gray hairs to the scalps of some of the vinyl pickers in our warehouse, and at least one customer service rep named Mark.  Wish we could've planned it better, but none of us had any idea it was going to go gangbusters in quite the way it did.  Oddly, you would've figured that moving 10,000+ LPs in just a couple of days would've made the shelves bare, but it doesn't even look like we put a dent in our stock!  So to answer your question, it's all good... ;-)  

Now I'm curious to know what effects this sale had for oldies.com
 
Was it good/bad overall? Did we, like, create some jobs or something?

If my records don't ship soon, I'm going to veer off the highway and drive into this fucking place!

Thx for posting OP! Spent like $80. Wife said this counts as my black friday record shopping money. (We will see what gohastings has to say about that!) My jaw dropped when I came across the Cave Singers - Welcome Joy but alas it was sold out. Best sale this year..........for me.

Great choice. Once you burn them in, consider a portable / lightweight amp. They'll sound so much better than they do out of the box.

Audio Technica ATH-M50. My first "real" pair of headphones. Not sure how much I'll be using them so I wanted something inexpensive to get me started. 

It's true CT told me they switched plants too. For the most part prices are extremely decent, packaging has fallen short as far as X5 goodies per special edition maybe to meet in the middle with costs. But the sleeves I got for Heavenly Beat and Widowspeak are primetime stuff. Also a lot of their new represses are probably going to be around 26$ from here on out. 

Captured Tracks vinyl pressings are utterly shit, unfortunately. They sign excelent artists that released some pretty above average records and it's stupid that they're cheap with pressings when they could add a couple of bucks and do it right. I guess you should buy the CD if you plan to listen it in full glory. BTW, my copy is black but the label is somewhat missplaced while music sounds distorted like if the record wasn't concentric. Most of my CT vinyl is somehow this way.

Just saw There is Nothing Left To Lose in my cart at 4.50 ! Thought I'd let the board know.

Here's a couple of reasons:
1. Did you use the store to test anything? Hear anything? or otherwise did seeing the item in person help you make your decision? Stores cost money to run. Having items on display to test and use cost money. If you went into the store, took up salesmen's time, used their displays, AND had a pleasant time doing so, you should strongly consider buying from that store. Don't use brick and mortar stores to window shop for online purchases. Keep doing it and there will be less and less brick and mortar stores.
2. Service after the sale and beyond. A good relationship with a good store has many benefits, including good deals and free services, because you are a repeat customer.
3. Most stores can order what they don't have in stock. I'm an impatient person, but if I can wait, I'm sure most people can as well.

Kannibal, no one who has commented on this thread is actually interested in this as something to buy for themselves, just like you aren't. What we are all interested in is a company who makes serious turntables bringing their knowledge and supply chain/manufacturing capabilities to bear on the problem of producing a decent budget turntable. Not decent for people like you or me who are serious enough to warrant at least a Carbon or RP3, but decent for people who are starting from scratch and can afford nothing more than $200 for this component. It's interesting because it's cheap enough that we might be able to sway beginners away from the Crossley's and ATLP60's that plague us all. How good it works and sounds is yet to be seen, but if it is able to not ruin records and sound decent then this is a victory for everyone. Whenever people show up and start "what table for $200" threads it's difficult to recommend anything new in that price range. If this is passable we now have a quick solution.

While I was at it I went ahead and snagged that Cambridge Audio 640p preamp swemoll was selling.. hell of a deal there too for $150.. all in all about an $800 upgrade for 500 bones... it was a good week.

I'm so weak. Like a dog returning to his vomit I actually just bought this from the Captured Tracks website. What can I do though? Dammit I love Wild Nothing, and CT does know how to make a nicely packaged special edition. Unfortunate that I'll have to request a replacement when the vinyl shows up with pressing errors, and unfortunate that they will not respond to my emails when I inevitably do have an issue. Also unfortunate is that it will only arrive at my door a month or so after it's promised release date. 
 
Then again I'm now an experienced CT buyer and these issues are not only expected but almost taken appreciatively, as I bend over and lower my pants...
 
Why are some of my favorite artists held hostage from me on such a label? Whatever, as long as they keep the slap bracelets coming.
