nelso330 got a reaction from _stretts in Ambient Related Releases (Drone, Field Recording, Neo-Classical, Experimental)
Alright so I have found that if I make a separate thread for a lot of smaller know ambient/experimental acts they fall to the bottom in lightning time! If its ok with everyone I would like to keep this thread as a means to post upcoming ambient LPs (I recommend & hopefully others recommend) - At least they will be saved via key word searches!
Quick standards: Artist - Title / Order Link / Few words about music and/or classification & SAMPLES if avail
Come on people of VC lets see people expand their taste and join in! I know the ambient thread (discussion) hit it off for a bit so there should be interest. If not "Let it die"

About
Reveries is the first collaborative effort of Noveller & TQA, two critically acclaimed lonesome composers welcoming us is an expanded guitar-based journey. Noveller is the solo project of Brooklyn-based composer Sarah Lipstate while Thisquietarly is Eric Quach, unstoppable globetrotting musician from Montreal. Both use the guitar as their main instrument, creating some of the most impressive, hypnotic and rich-textured electric guitar works from the past years.
Empty architecture, luminosity, rocks and deserted zones. Somewhere between Antonioni's Zabriskie Point and Tarkovski's Stalker, there is a walk, a wait and an epiphany.
It happened. You were not there. You just read it. Or maybe it's the synopsis of it. It's written on the back cover of a corned paperback that girl with the golden cap lost in the train you were just in. She was on hurry. You'll never know its end, you just have to stick to the rocks and to the music.
Tomorrow is another day and tonight might be the night.
Recorded in January 2013 at Electric Blue Studios in Brooklyn, this new long player finds Sarah & Eric at their most luminous and aerial state, writing together layers of blissful drones resulting of a highly meditative and emotional four-parts piece.
Recorded and mastered by Brian Wenckebach.
Pressed on white vinyl in an edition of 500 copies worldwide.

nelso330 got a reaction from jrodan in Sun Kil Moon & The Album Leaf
If i may ask why did you guys choose to offer 2 per person? With the limited quantity and the known flipping of this album? Its your product so obviously you can do with it what you want!
Will the email give us at least an exact TIME it will go on sale next! Seems it has to be within that hour or else we lose out! Glad to hear there is still hope to get a copy...It baffles me that they don't press MORE of these! The demand is clearly there ....
Also I beat everyone to the PM me if you have extra BTW LOL

nelso330 got a reaction from thesewoodenideas in PO: Jack White - Lazaretto -- "Ultra LP"
So I will probably catch some guff for this but; Anyone else think this album is boring! Its like his last album but with less quality!
IDK, I am not a huge solo Jack White fan but this is a disappointment! I am happy I didn't shell out for the Vault. Yes, I still will buy this LP but sadly now more for the historic element this LP brings to record collecting!

nelso330 got a reaction from VinylLoop in PO: Sharon Van Etten - Are We There
SC Bundles are almost always $28, but vary in what you get…but I think the LP on color and a CD is still a decent price even without the other extras…a 7" makes this defiantly more than worth it!

nelso330 got a reaction from CaptainHerbalLife in Sun Kil Moon & The Album Leaf
Apparently your unaware of his practices lately...
Doubtful there will be another color/black...
People price gauge the hell out of his stuff...
It's common frustration, if one of your fav artists pressed super small numbers for no good reason... And you had to pay $100 for there LP you'd be pissed too... I don't think I'm alone here

nelso330 got a reaction from ratbrain in Online sales of RSD releases
Right on! I've been listening to this a lot this past week! Defiantly a better listen, I still can't listen to both LPs in a row but one works…He is just a lot to swallow! His albums can have a lot of garbage in-between the good stuff…so this comp is perfect!

nelso330 reacted to solace in Sun Kil Moon
while i get the appeal of Benji... and i enjoy it quite a bit for what it is, i still think it's being overrated by many critics.
it seems the ones who love it most are people who didn't particular care for (or even listen) to Sun Kil Moon in the past (mostly Ghosts of the Great Highway and April).
my first 1-2 listens of Benji WERE pretty amazing, i can't lie... but like someone said, it listens like a collection of short stories and obituaries, which to me has very little replay value as a result. i mean, even your most favorite books/short stories of all time, how many of you have read them more than twice?
i prefer the more lush/full band, poetic, and melodic Koz to this funny, self deprecating, stream of consciousness Koz.
if you haven't checked out the last two Desertshore albums (Drawing of Threes especially), definitely do so... Mercy and a few songs off Threes are some of Mark's best work ever for me.
p.s. i'm pretty sure have an extra unopened white copy of Admiral Fell Promises that i'd be willing to part with.

nelso330 reacted to dreamover in Silversun Pickups - The Singles Collection
i understand most aspects of record collecting (i mean, i collect records), but i'm not sure i will ever understand the idea of rooting for a label to make a pointless release just so i have something to buy. am i crazy?
Except for two songs, I have all of these on great sounding vinyl in the order they were intended. I'd much rather just get a 7" of the new songs.

nelso330 got a reaction from glass realms in VA Erased Tapes 5th Anniversary 7" Box Set (500) Olafur Arnalds, Peter Broderick, Nils Frahm, ect
This is the best piece of music released this year! Musically and visually! Forgot the 3rd Eye Blind garbage, listen to some fantastic music (ambient, classical, and post rock, beats)
5 individually crafted sleeves with a 6th holding a microfiber cloth with ER logo and a puke of the ER mountain, each 7" has two songs recorded especially for this set!!
Olafur Arnalds, Peter Broderick, Nils Frahm, A Winged Victory for the Sullen and more....
It's a little pricey due to import as well as the quality! Up until today the music was never released digitally making it exclusive to vinyl for about 7months...
You can find it at IMPORTCDS for only $99 w/ Free shipping on their eBay store!
http://www.erasedtapes.com/store/index/ERATP050/erased-tapes-collection-v
ER stated half have been sold of the 500 numbered copies...
Highly recommended
