This is the first time I will experience a new album release by Converge as a fan. I imagine myself shaking when those pre-orders are up.

I did never, in a million years, expect to be disappointed by an arcade fire record... especially since it's my favourite band and I really liked all four singles.
But man, when peter pan came on i thought this is the worst thing these guys have ever written, good news is it probably won't get worse...and then fucking chemistry comes on and i just think what the fuck is this shit... those infinite content songs have a nice chord progression but it does nothing for a hypothetical narrative of the record. Put your money on me is the only song left that is 'okay' i guess, a lot of people praise this song as one of the best they've ever written, don't know about that man...
Listened to the record 3 times now and i really really hope it will grow on me...I really want it to...I normally don't form an opinion on a record after only a day but peter pan and chemistry are reason enough to make this their worst record by far, as a huge fan this really hurts

I think Peter pan is alright.
Overall I think the album is pretty solid. For me chemistry is the only clunker. The only other bad thing I can say about it is that it may be their worst lyrically, I think musically, it works. That being said, they can probably switch out of trying to do dance music for the next album. They aren't LCD.

I found this interesting - some guy on discogs has a clear AYS for sale that has a label defect. Has pics, it's an interesting defect.
It's a bummer tho - b/c for such an expensive album, that's a hard sell. You'll never be able to play that side. Only an uber collector would prob consider it. Edit: According to the seller, they've played it on the defect side and it appears to work to a degree...

I can't figure out what drugs I need to be on to understand this music. I've been listening to stuff on YouTube to try to get a grasp of what these guys sound like and it's just a lot of feedback and noise to me right now.
im going to try weed first. Then I'm going to take a few somas that are lying around. I'll get a good buzz from some vodka after that and have some tramadol in the cabinet I'll hit after that if I still can't figure it out.
Im excited for the new album like all of you guys, but I can't figure out what state of mind I need to be in to enjoy it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Ólafur Arnalds' Eulogy For Evolution has been remastered and reissued and available for order today. Personally still prefer this (and Living Room Songs) to the majority of his other stuff. Sample of remastered material here.

I accepted PTM's direction with Evil Friends and ended up loving that album, but good god, 'Live in the Moment' is a large pile of smelly garbage that I didn't expect from them.
I dig So Young and Feel It Still a lot though.
