  1. Sounds like poor isolation, which is pretty common. You said you're in an apartment building, which is only going to have concrete sub floors on the bottom floor. So unless you're in a ground unit you're most likely going to have ply wood sub flooring, which is way more susceptible to foot falls and other isolation based problems. I had problems isolating a Project 1.3 in my upstairs living room (ply wood floors) and went the inner tube route (google bike inner tube turntable isolation) and it worked great. Eventually I moved that same table to my basement and the foot fall issue was non existent (concrete sub floors). A kid's bike inner tube and a piece of granite tile, building a sand box, wall mounting, or Allen's tennis ball suggestion are easy/cheap fixes. Or you can go the expensive fancy audiophile isolation feet route if you have the money. Or you could even buy a suspended turntable, like the AR I put in that upstairs living room I mentioned. The possibilities are endless(ly frustrating)! Good luck!
  2. I liked this season for sure, and didn't have a terribly hard time following the plot. I got over the whole "this season is so different from season 1" thing by the second episode. But man, I really didn't like Farrell and Kitshch's performances. And I usually really like Farrell, but the more dramatic scenes with him (especially the custody battle stuff) were killing me! I don't get the hate for Vaughn. The beginning of the season was a little weird for his character but it seemed to stem from some clunky dialogue to me. Thought McAdams killed it.
  3. Suuuuuuper stoked for this! Also, that album art looks an awful lot like this -
  4. Picked up a 2M red for my secondary setup today from a local shop called Gramophone. Going on an AR ES-101. Also hooked up a Pro-ject phono box I've had sitting around. Sounding pretty rad so far for a spare setup. Can't wait for the red to break in!
  5. Soooo many records from the 90s/2000s that have never been pressed. Personally, would LOVE to see the first two Fiona Apple albums get pressed, but alas, more classic rock represses. Neat.
  6. Picked this up over the weekend at my local shop. Surprised to find the colored variant when I opened it. Even more surprised how much this record has grown on me the last couple days.
  7. Gilmour's "On An Island" is great. Backup vocals by David Crosby and Graham Nash on a bunch of the tracks. Wish someone would repress that fa sho.
  8. Agreed. I just think it's funny that the top 10 or 15 states that get more than they give when it comes to taxes, are overwhelmingly conservative/red states, where you constantly hear sweeping generalizations about welfare or handouts. Obviously, I don't know Konk's personal situation, but thought it was worth pointing out.
  9. Says a dude from LA, which is 7th on the list of states that receive more government aid than it pays in taxes.
  10. Agreed, my wife has to take birth control for a couple reasons other than birth control. Pretty sure she's not the only one.
  11. User interface on this is pretty damn slick. Finding some stuff that wasn't on Spotify. Definitely going to use the three month trial.
  12. Rad. I thought about sending you a pm after seeing the concept in a pic of your setup. Glad to hear some feedback from a regular person. Sometimes reviews on audio sites come off kinda ridiculous to me.
  13. I've been looking in this price range too. Really intrigued by the Clearaudio Concept, but no where local to check it out in person. Definitely not fun dropping that much money on something you've only seen pictures of.
  14. Anyone else think it was weird that Stannis was told the deserters took all the horses, and then Melisandre shows up at castle black on a horse?
  15. Rad. I have an original pressing that is super noisy. Have cleaned it and cleaned it but think its just the pressing. Never heard the live recording of this.
  16. Speedboxes always use the 45 pulley, for 33 1/3 and 45 rpm playback.
  17. Lossless audio on Tidal for 20 bucks a month (the cost of one record these days), and a DAC = less than half of the record you mentioned in the OP. I prefer vinyl playback too, but there are other ways out there to get great sound quality until a record gets repressed or you're able to find/afford a particular record. Its a big world out there.
  18. Called and got Darjeeling Limited. Super quick and helpful. Thanks Kristen!
  19. ^ Nope, you're right, dipswitches for the S are on the bottom, but on the back on the DS. I"ve just never seen them on the S because I've never flipped one over.
  20. I thought the Tube Box S didn't have adjustable capacitance. Isn't that the DS?
