The whole point is  was to revive and support local record stores. Go in more than 1 day a year instead, don't let WMG/UNIVERSAL tell you to go in to go buy their Ghostbusters glow in the dark crap. Major labels pressing a 12" picture disc single of some U2 song limited to 1000 copies fucks over smaller bands and smaller labels (where all the good music is anyways). 
 
 
Vinyl costs a lot of money, plus it's the dude's living. Asian Man is by no means a major label, very much DIY at heart still. Vinyl has lived on throughout the years due to independent artist/label support, where there is a demand, supply follows. I understand the motive behind majors cashing in on the vinyl craze, but the amount to which they saturate the market and slow down pressing is ridiculous. 
 
 
Pirates Press (don't recommend them at all for outsourcing foreign workers) recently funded a new press to be built. But the fact is most plants are using ancient equipment that would be REALLY REALLY expensive to design and manufacture new from scratch presses. There is a finite number of old presses in the world. 

this album's a snoozefest. I canceled my preorder... first godspeed record that won't get into my collection. unless it's a grower and not shower.

Theres a fried fish truck that travels around my county & stops at different places on different days. This sounds a lot cooler.

People get way too hung up on the vinyl weight.  The only thing that really matters is the quality of the pressing.  There are plenty of 120g records that sound incredible and some not so much, same goes for 180g.

I'm bummed! I think I expected something noisier after Pedestrian and I'm not sure I can jump aboard the train for her mid-tempo, clean sound on this one. A lot of the songs remind me of a rocking Sheryl Crow. Depreston is the other interesting change of pace from the clean mid-tempo pop rockers.

This is without question the most expensive thread on VC.

I preordered that record based on Us Now when it was streaming on Pitchfork back in February. Really excited to hear it.

Got HaHaSound and Tender Buttons yesterday and listened to them last night - these are wonderful pressings. Forgot how much I love this band.

I really hope this has some bonus stuff on it, like "Puppets" and especially "Aphids". I too am seeing them in G-Rap and hope like hell they have these done by then. I have zero faith in that though. "Coming summer 2014"
