Cool. Officially sitting it out this year... first time I've missed a RSD. I'll order that AIC 7" from Discogs in a couple months, but I'll be sure to support my local stores on Sunday post-RSD.

if Chris Hardwick's getting behind it, it definitely sucks.

So what you're saying... is that RSD's acronym should officially stand for Redundant Salty Discussions?

The US list also contained an Elastica reissue that was a UK import a few years ago. Waited 90 minutes in line and a slow as molasses crawl through the store only to be told it didn't arrive in the shipment. Neither of these bands have a strong US following; the labels reissuing this stuff are both UK-based anyway. I'm 99.9% certain the listing means "available to order for the North American market" rather than "made/distributed in North America".
Oh damn, this changes everything. I'm going to grab Nassau Coliseum and David Live soon and this is an essential piece of the Diamond Dogs Tour which is one of the few Bowie tours that I really care about. Too bad they couldn't fill out side 6 with some extra live cuts from the era but maybe there aren't any.

Two Bowie releases from Hoffman forum:
David Bowie: Cracked Actor (Live Los Angeles, '74)(3LP)(Record Store Day Exclusive)
A previously unreleased live recording from Los Angeles on 5th September, 1974, this was a pivotal gig in the transition between the Diamond Dogs tour and the Philly Dogs tour. Produced by David Bowie and mixed by Tony Visconti at Human Studios, NYC in October/November 2016, 3LP with 6th etching on the 6th side.
David Bowie: BOWPROMO (GEM Promo LP)(1LP Vinyl Box)(Record Store Day Exclusive)
In August 1971, David Bowie's manager Tony Defries had 500 promo LPs pressed to secure him and other Mainman artist Dana Gillespie a record deal. This promo album, featuring seven songs by David on side A and five by Dana Gillespie on the flip, is often being referred to as the BOWPROMO white-label album. The LP came in generic white outer and inner sleeves and had no printed labels, so its matrix number (BOWPROMO 1A-1/1B-1) is the only way to safely identify it. This Record Store Day release faithfully replicates the original promo, with Bowie's seven tracks on one side, plus five exclusive Bowie prints.

I love the movie, but I'm totally willing to admit being blinded by nostalgia. I was in high school when it came out and this music was my life. It was weird seeing it being pulled into popular culture.

Not sure how reliable this source is but looks like Catherine Wheel reissues may be on the list for this year: http://www.alternapop.com/2017/01/13/catherine-wheels-ferment-and-chrome-to-be-re-released-on-180-gram-vinyl/
the 180-gram language makes me wonder if these are going to be Plain releases... seems like they would be up their alley unfortunately.

It's a nice companion to Ghosts for me. I got through the whole thing at work today and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Here is the play by play...
First track: Oh no, not another questionable Trent vocal choice?! Let's wait it out.
Second track: Oh fuck, this is crazy good!
Third track: Is Leonard Cohen on this track?
Fourth track: This break down is siiiiiick
Fifth track: THIS is the impenetrable music they were talking about.
I'm not sure what I was expecting, maybe something more outright aggressive. But that isn't going to stop me from listening to this on repeat all day.

Of course it's really happening now - I just got the OG press 2 weeks ago. Will order this anyway.

He said it's meant to be played loud. I'm hoping for some brutal ass Industrial. like Downward Spiral but heavier and more experimental.

tonyfranciosa reacted to GOTCHA in Ian from popmarket here - what do you guys want to see?
Or, you could stop ordering records and then an hour later change your mind and cancel. They would be better off not having to deal with "customers" like yourself who can't commit to something they ordered less than an hour ago.
The site is great. Create a feature that stops idiots like the one above from ordering so you can focus on more important things and you'll really have something great on your hands
