Some users, not all, on VMP are relatively new to digging into music. It's tempting to poke fun at the mix of enthusiasm and lack of knowledge but, IMO, it's also very cool that more people are diving into the insane treasure hunt that is working backwards into the history of rock/hip hop/modern music. We all start somewhere and, after 22 years of collecting music, there are well known bands/genres I'm still naive towards. I didn't really get into Talking Heads until last year, I have zero knowledge of Jazz, etc. I tend to keep quiet about genres/bands I am barely getting to know while maybe some VMP posters can be more quick to assume the role of expert but I think that's just, as I said, the enthusiasm. Also, I consider myself a very young 31 year old man but I have to remember that still means I might have 13 years of more music listening on some other adults. Anyway, thanks for reading my novel.

Guess I'll be cancelling my VMP subscription.  I've never cared for the National and even listened to this album last week in anticipation of this announcement and it still does nothing for me.  I've pretty much run out of useful swaps.  It's a fine service and I'm sure I'll dip my toe back in the water down the road.

Secret Samadhi was great, and damn near perfect. Throwing Copper and Mental Jewelry were both very good, but everything after Samadhi  took a deep nose dive. A few decent tracks here and there.
I still really enjoy the deep cuts on MJ. Wish the Four Songs tracks would have made this vinyl version. Heaven Wore A Shirt FTW

I've heard nothing but great things about this. It's my 4 year olds favorite album and will probably be my next purchase. 

Swapped Morby out for Odelay, which I'd been meaning to pick up at some point. 

I don't fuck with Old Gray at all and just checked this album out per your post. Aside from them having the same members I draw 0 similarities between the two, and honestly didn't dig Old Gray.
 
I love this Sorority Noise album, in fact friends of mine who hated their past work are becoming fans through this last LP.  Hope they stay on this path.

TDTH hasn't held up well at all. To me that was the start of the decline. Secret Samadhi is still fantastic and by far their best work.
