PO: Death from Above 1979 - The Physical World (9/9)

Recommended Posts

I still can't believe this is a 140 gram black single LP in a non-gatefold and they want $25 for it.

I don't see multiple listing on Amazon.com, you must be looking at the CA site?

$25.98: http://www.amazon.com/Physical-World-Death-Above-1979/dp/B00LMBUQTG/

$53.99: http://www.amazon.com/Physical-World-Death-Above-1979/dp/B00LMPG1UU/

There are only the two now, and the more expensive one is listed as an import.

I FEEL LIKE THIS MIGHT BE IMPORTANT:

(Jesse posts new song, Jon/Big Black Delta compliments it, Jesse compliments BBD, I say tour together, Jesse favourites my tweet)

DFA1979/BBD tour would be the best thing of life, seriously.

Only 16$ on Canadian Amazon right now. So that'll be even more like 15$ for you Americans.

Sorry for the mobile link. I was gonna wait and support my local shop with the release. But can't beat $16 with prime.

Edit: during check out a similar recommended product was the same record at a $25 price. Weird. Wondering if they messed up. Regardless happy to finally have preordered.

Looks like they have the "import" listed at $25 and this one for $16. But they charge $10 to ship it to the states so it only ends up being a buck or two cheaper than ordering from Amazon US if you have prime. Annoying though that the same record in Canada is listed $10 cheaper.

Also weird that shipping from the UK through amazon is noticeably cheaper than shipping from Canada.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just listened to a leak. Final product is closer to the first single than the second. The whole album is pretty polished and definitely missing the rawness that everything before it had. Much more upbeat than the first LP.

Was kind of afraid to read this, but not remotely surprised.  I'll be making up my own mind when it comes time to spin this, but I'm trying not to get too excited.

I can see it being a bit divisive for sure. I really like it but I'm not sure the two compare. It's hook-y as fuck. Just give in to the hooks.

For what it is worth, the polish on Trainwreck is indicative of the the tone but that is still one of the worst songs. It is more upbeat than that for sure. Just not at all heavy. Nothing like Pull Out, Cold War or Turn it Out to be found.
