Tommy
You guys think VF sold these to retailers at $30 a piece? That would equate to about $10,500 revenue off the 350. I imagine if they were in the business of distributing they could have posted these online for $99 and made about 25K more.

moodist
So...I told my shop about this far in advance, they ended up getting three boxes. They put one behind the counter for me with a price tag of $90.50. There might be five emails going back in forth between the time of me telling them about this boxset and receiving it. Did they bump the price because i was nagging them? or because they held it for me? They've always been real good with keeping it at or below retail with any other release. Anyway, i feel pretty pissed about this, should i though? has anyone else seen this price in store? 15$ per record is fair, if that was the retail on the box. The other box sets were gone before i could see the tags on them. FYI, mine cost $77 from Easy Street in Seattle. Seems stores are just randomly marking these up depending on how much they've been hassled for them. I'd imagine there are some stores who've ordered it in unaware of the amount of pants-wetting going on and priced them at the rrp.

jhulud
Found & snagged #406 at my local store. Price was slightly marked up which was disappointing but nothing crazy as others have come across.

Shinji
Of course my Duk Koo Kim 10" has bad surface noise! Looks like there is a big scratch on the A-side.

Shinji
Aw, shucks Have yet to listen to the others yet, hopefully that's the only problem with the set, because wow, it's really beautiful.
IndieAtomic
Who ever has a scratch on side a what numbers are you? Maybe the were manufacturing errors.

itsgoodtobefree
#297. Looking closer, it seems like the scratch starts at the middle of the track and goes to the center. It's not too deep though. Still sounds really good.
Youinreverse
Who ever has a scratch on side a what numbers are you? Maybe the were manufacturing errors. The Duk Koo Kim 10" was pressed almost 12 years ago. I don't think there's going to be any correlation with the numbers on the box set. wbhendrix
i was at the Austin Record convention today and snagged a mint copy of the Vanilla Sky Soundtrack on LP!! It still included the film strip as well!!
Youinreverse
So in the email they explained that the clear numbers were pressed at the time of each release? From my understanding, yes. They pressed them at the same time as the original presses and stashed them away for the future box set.
