PO: Faith No More - Sol Invictus (Now with US Gold Vinyl link)

Recommended Posts

  • 2 weeks later...

Got a letter in the mail from Bullmoose (dated June 4) that this is delayed again to August 21st.

The nice thing is that they also sent a download card for the album.

The last sentence reads"  Even Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy eventually saw the light of day so we're fairly confident that Sol Invictus will as well."

I really don't care much for tracks 6, 7 and 8 and "Sunny Side Up" isn't all that great either still a legit track though. I would probably give this album a generous 65% approval rating and I'm a big FNM fan. I haven't really been interested in listening to it since the first week I got the CD.

I agree. I was holding off until I got the vinyl to listen, but I downloaded the Bullmoose card and was not impressed. I had too cleanse my palate with 'Irony Is A Dead Scene'.

glad to see im not the only one that was bummed about this album. Listened to it once, and that was enough unfortunately.

Count me in.

It's not bad, neither frustrating, even with the fact that I wasn't expecting much from it. It just feels (like most post-reunion albums) like it lacks real intensity although you can feel the commitment to bring something decent to the table. And intensity and originality represented a big deal to FNM back in the day.

I still don't think I'l end up buying it, can't see myself giving it frequent listens.
