Rocko1
Hi. I wanted to see if anyone can help me out. Got this LP from ebay....and out of 2 records, 2 sides have these lines, looks almost like crazing or small lines going towards/away from center, but I know nothing about records-zilch. Can anyone tell me what this is? The record was listed as VG+. Thanks in advance.

timsimmons
Probably just pressed at a plant with poor quality control ( it looks like something is up with the vinyl pellets - maybe recycled vinyl?). Play it to see if it affects the sound. If it's free of pops and crackles, you'll be fine. Rocko1

Rocko1
Not sure what looking at... Look at the light bulbs reflection. See the worming lines going perpendicular to the grooves? Showing up on 2 out of 4 sides of a double album.

thievedrelic
Yeah that is a tough one; I've never seen it on any of my wax. It has to be a manufacturing defect...too uniform to be anything else really, except for this image I have in my head of an old man tripping on a branch and scattering both discs into a bed of tiny rocks. Maybe vinyl wrinkles oddly if it dries at too cold of a temp? Get a dynamics engineer in here, guys. Can you tell us what the LP is? Maybe if you look up the entry on Discogs you will find others commenting on QC issues from the plant.

My best guess is that someone baked 'em in the oven to try and fix a warp, but it ended up stress-wrinkling the vinyl. Assuming it was a used album. itsgoodtobefree
I've seen similar marks on one or two of my records. They don't affect the sound so I don't worry about them.
