borf
Most of the stores I buy from who put on the low-tack stickers that come right off with no residue. I like those stores. But for the tags that the other places put on - with the bar code and price and name of the release...how do you get those off without damaging anything or leaving tacky? valentine
thankfully the places i buy from are smart enough to throw a sleeve over it if it doesnt have one and then put it on that. so i usually just replace the sleeve.
adamlikesmusic
Goo Gone? Not sure how it would work on card stock.
chiefwahoo
I just leave it. Years down the road I can remember where I bought it from and how little I paid
wayne
My leatherface cherry knowle 12" on meantime makes me chuckle, it has £4.99 printed on the actual sleeve
thomas
If you really want it off, use a hair dryer on low to melt the glue and slowly peel it off.
ohiopride
goo-gone or lighter fluid. they both work about the same, but with lighter fluid you don't get that citrus scent, but if you like that, goo-gone it up
jhulud
I have used Goo-Gone...no issues here...
perk900
i use the hair dryer method... a little heat and the adhesive loosens up and it peels right off...
mxv
UN-DU is better than goo gone, plus it is clear! it is the perfect thing to remove stickers and it won't discolor a white sleeve!
impact
i use the hair dryer method... a little heat and the adhesive loosens up and it peels right off... this works, but still leaves a little residue .
adammuzzy
no stores i go to are dumb enough to put a sticker right on the jacket. but if they did, i'd totally leave it. there's no bigger dick slap in the face than paying 50 bucks for a record then getting it in the mail and seeing a 3 dollar price tag on it. skumbucket
my local guys just put everything that isn't shrink-wrapped in a sleeve and then they write the price on with a grease pencil. doesn't hurt the jacket at all.

mystic84
i have to remove some glue from a cover, not a sticker, just some residues of glue. is the lighter fluid ok? or what method?
rafter242
Another vote for Goo-Gone. I moisten my fingertip and touch the spot/label/residue that needs to be removed. Wait a minute and then wipe carefully with a soft cloth. Repeat if necessary.
jailhouse
my local guys just put everything that isn't shrink-wrapped in a sleeve and then they write the price on with a grease pencil. doesn't hurt the jacket at all. AHH!!, something about shrinwrapped records always gives me the twitches. I really really hate it when labels shrinkwrap their records, it's a catch 22, you don't really want to remove the wrap(if it's a collectable) but at the same time, you don't want to risk warping your record/jacket etc. I am torn
rafter242
Shrinkwrap has NOTHING to do with warping your vinyl. NOTHING.

ocnypunk
For anyone who lives in the NY/NJ area and has a Shoprite supermarket nearby, they have bottles of Goo Gone on sale for $1.99 this week. I was there today and picked up a couple. I always use a Q-tip to apply Goo Gone to stickers that need removing. Seems to work best for applying it. translatingthename
i've had this problem a few times too, so i'm definitely going to try goo gone
rtw88
I just leave the sticker on there for two reasons. 1) I don't ever have to say a record jacket is in bad condition because I took the sticker off wrong. 2) It's fun to send people records with low price tags on them if they paid/traded big for it. j4m35
might have to grab some goo-gone from the shoprite. why the FUCK wouldn't you remove the shrinkwrap from your records? let those things breathe! they are supposed to be heard!!
