hxcoliver
Only good album he made (solo) imo. But this one is really awesome. Where did you get this from? You don't like any of his other albums. He has some really awesome stuff. I got this on eBay. It was at like 160 buy it now (if I rember correctly) and managed to get it for
uniquestyle88
I own Damad "Rise & Fall" LP test press. Handwritten labels, no unique sleeve or any other additional info. Bought it from Prank Records off ebay around 2002.
Big Country
Really depends on the band but emailing the label is always a good shoot. I've emailed about a dozen labels and not one of them has ever emailed me back.

I really want to like the one he has done with Damo Suzuiki, but I can't get into it.
hxcoliver
Nice. Just remembered his collab with FRUSCIANTE. That one is awesome too. I really want to like the one he has done with Damo Suzuiki, but I can't get into it. there's so much more of his work though. have you listened to much of it other than those other 2? if not, check out his bandcamp page. there's like at least 30 different albums
jtcohenour
I don't own any test presses and I've only ever seen 2 or 3 that I would have liked to buy on eBay. What's the best way to go about obtaining one? Emailing labels and bands or just staking it out on sites like eBay and discogs? I could use some of the same advice! gutzonborglum
I could use some of the same advice! I usually just email the label. The main thing is not to be intrusive and pushy. It's a crapshoot, because some labels get so inundated with these requests they more than likely just delete the messages, but more often than not, they'll reply back and you can begin to deal. I recently just added to my test press collection Gateway District's new ep, Coyote, from Salinas Records, and Underground Railroad To Candyland's 'Bird Roughs', as well as Wringer's 'Bullfighter'. The occasional gem from ebay can be found as well.
nickmitch
I only own three test presses: Fucked Up - Year of the Rat 12" The Wonder Years/Fallen From The Sky - Under the Influence split 7" Marathon - I'll Never Look at You the Same Way 7" The first two were eBay items, and the third was in a grab bag I ordered from Midnight Funeral records

isavedlatin54
Yes... they moved from next to the FedEx on Hillsborough to down by the Bell Tower within the last 5 or 6 years. They're moving again to Mission Valley and Sadlack's is being torn down as well. I think a hotel is being put in where they are/were both located ohh i thought they had already moved to mission valley. whenever I visit my parents, I make it a point to stop in. StrangeTerrain
When you email a label about test presses what do you guys usually say? like I have trouble with easing it into the conversation without sounding like "can I buy a test press...pleaaaaaseee?" just throwing out my 2 cents
Pnumekin
Usually "Hello, saw some of your release's TP around webstores, so I wondered if you made them available in any way/if I could buy one ?" Something like this, most of the time I get an answer. jtcohenour

anthemforadoomed
I won a test press of Streetlight's second album on ebay for a benefit thing. I tried to email Victory about getting a test of their first album and they said they never sell test presses. Thought that was interesting although for a hurricane relief benefit I understand letting go of one.
