DEATH OF KARMA

Recommended Posts

It's more like Karma reincarnate. I love that:

  1. You can go to a user and rate them overall out of 5 stars
  2. You can up or down vote a POST (NOT a user)
  3. The post shows the score, and who up/down voted you
  4. Your overall average for up/down voting is displayed in your user

A karma system that actually tells you something useful? yes please!

I think it makes some arguments seem funny, if it's the same few people down voting each other you can just look at it and laugh. I cannot tell yet if I like how you can see who voted you up or down. Post wisely!

is it just me or can you no longer see who gave up/down votes?

also, what do the 5 stars on a profile represent?

im 100% opposed to "liking" replacing up and down votes. people have bitched about wanting a dislike button on facebook since the day the like button arose. this should be no different.

change it back.

its not about karma having a point. because we all know it doesnt.

but if someone says something stupid, they deserve to know it. and clicking one button to let em know will probably prevent a shit storm of people having to explicitly tell them its stupid.

again, this was streets ahead of karma, because you never really knew where it was coming from. up/down votes give you the source.

but if i can like what someone posts, i dont see why i cant dislike it at the same time.

i dunno.. we had it up until today. and except for that first week of this new board, i think weve avoided negativity quite well around here.
