aarondltd
How many turntables do you have that you can't remember how they work? Only 2 old ones. I don't own a U-turn, have just been considering it one of my future options. Lately I have stopped looking into different tables.

Corgipants
The one I won off eBay will be here tomorrow. Hopefully I can get moved and have everything set back up in the next week or so. Very excited to see if it's worth the hype.
YouTwo
Just ordered the Plus model of this yesterday, it shipped an hour later. Should come early next week! Damn. I ordered mine back in December and it was a 5 week lead-time. I think it got as much as 8 week lead-time in February when Boston had all of that snow. On the site it said 2-4 days, but I was impressed that it shipped that quickly.
Corgipants
Finally got around to setting mine up today, trying to put the belt on was a bit of a pain as it kept wanting to slip under the platter, however i found that keeping my finer on the belt and spinning the platter manually made it super easy to keep it on
Bhemblem
Mine is out for delivery today, along with the preamp and a copy of Mayday Parade's self titled. Today should be a great mail day. aarondltd
Tardcore
this thing is on massdrop now. no idea how this compares to their normal pricing, but it could save you a few bucks if you don't mind waiting. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/u-turn-audio-orbit-basic-cue
aarondltd
Oh man! Been ignoring the Massdrop notices lately. Cheap cartridge right? I'm pretty happy for now so I think I'm still going to hold off as long as I can and go for the $300 model.
YouTwo
It would normally be $179 + $40 for the Cue so it saves about $20. The $20 shipping is the same that you would pay direct from U-Turn. Edit: Nevermind. Obviously I have no idea how Mass Drop works. that's a pretty good deal if it gets to $175.
stillalivetui
The belt was incredibly easy to put on. I was surprised after reading how difficult people were saying it was.
Bhemblem
The belt was incredibly easy to put on. I was surprised after reading how difficult people were saying it was. I have no experience with this stuff whatsoever, and it still only took me like 30 seconds to put the belt on. vinyl addict
YouTwo
Looks like the Mass Drop hit it's price. Good deal for anyone looking to get one. You basically get it for $5 less than regular price plus the Cue free.
aarondltd
But with a cheaper cartridge which is cool if you want to replace it anyways. That seems to be where the savings is coming from I think. Hadn't been to their site in a while. I guess that is what it ships with these days. Oops!
Guest
$15 off $50 purchase from their site, for anyone on the fence about picking up a table or their new pre-amp. PLUTO15
emokid9963
Sorry to bump this. But I want some opinions. Im considering upgrading to this table or a few others. I want to specifically discuss a few questions about this table. Im upgrading the cart, adding the cue.... But the big question I have is, should I stick with the MDF platter or go with acrylic? I Know I could just get the MDF and upgrade to the acrylic in the future, but curious if I should just start with it. Thanks for any help
bjorn
If you're probably going to get the acrylic at some point anyway why wait? It actually has a measurable impact on the sound quality, plus it will make it easier to sell down the road if you end up wanting to upgrade. emokid9963

Just didn't know if it made such a big impact so I could just keep price down a tad so when I upgrade further down the road... But yeah I get what you are saying. Thanks
YouTwo
Agree with upgrading the platter, especially if you are planning on doing it at some point. It's cheaper when you add it as an upgrade that buying it later.

emokid9963
Okay so I wanna make the purchase. Last question I have about the U-Turn... Would you pick the Grado Black or Ortofon cartridge? Wanna hear a little input. Thanks
