I will admit, the temptation would be too much. I'm usually completely alone for over half my shift without much interruption, other than occasional pass-throughs by security, so I often feel like I can get away with.... MURDER!

I work by myself all day and I see my boss maybe once a month so I definitely get away with a lot more than I should however, life is cruel and I work way out in the country so I rarely get decent reception so I can't be on my phone as much as I would like : |

Woah that's one huge sentence !

(It might help to point out that I don't work in an office and I drive around a lot to different stores)

I've been working graveyards at a casino/hotel as a night auditor for the past few months.  It's put me on vampire hours, though most of my friends/roommates also somewhat exist on that circadian plane as well.  The night differential is well worth the less-than-perfect hours.

For the longest time, since I was really young, I've wanted to be one of those business guys running through airports in their suits, trying to catch a red-eye to Tokyo before the coffee is depleted in their veins.  I doubt my idealization of that lifestyle matches how it really is, but goddamnit I wanna wear a suit to work every day!  This job I get to at least wear a nice dress shirt and ugly tie, but it just aint the same.

I've gone the cubicle route before and absolutely despised it.  Soul draining, dream crushing, demoralizing work that is.  It's got to be a pretty good gig to stay away from the office for work!

I'm still in school but I'm hoping once I graduate that I can live in a cubicle. The job in the movie Office Space is my dream job. I used to despise working 3-11 in the morning but it's really cool getting home by noon and being done for the day.

Your job sounds really cool though. I wouldn't mind dressing up for work but I'll admit that I look pretty terrible most days

Are you allowed to read or do you have to find work to stay busy ?

Luckily I'm allowed to read.  Only thing is, reading is often a surefire way to get me to fall asleep, especially in these witching hours.  I wish I could listen to music, because that would help keep me lucid much easier than browsing news sites and these forums.

I have graduate school around the corner, so there's still plenty of time for me to have mental/emotional breakdowns in public places.

I feel the grass is always greener for careers.  I think it's a mindset to have, instead of a "good job".  Even people who have dream jobs are likely to hate them if they're not in the right mindset.  Same goes for people who have shit jobs.  They can love them, if only they have the correct perspective and tenacious wherewithal.
