TheGhostOfRandySavage
I'm getting awfully fucking sick of these shit swing shifts at work. As my boss was leaving today she told me I have to be in early the rest of the week. Also have to do level 2 for Kronos again on Friday. Fuck this job.Best way not to do that...say, "sorry, I can't make that work. I need more notice to be able to change my schedule."

Guest
It's not really a request on their part, more of do it or else. I'm job hunting daily, so trying not to let it bother me. Really close to paying off my loans too, so hopefully can make it out that way soon too.

I'd think you would have a pretty good case against them in that instance.
Guest
I don't know, but the job is not worth fighting for either way. As my bitching in the past indicates, I hate it with a passion and even the decent pay is not worth it any longer.

Worst case they fire you and you threaten to sue for wrongful termination. They're really dicking you around, and you not being able to make it in for a shift you aren't scheduled for doesn't give them the right to fire you. TheGhostOfRandySavage
I'm trying to get some more modern music in our funeral home, and I took one of our little 1 gb flash drives that we hand out to families to fill up. I tried to stay pretty middle of the road/somewhat popular on stuff, with nothing overly "frantic", nothing too upbeat, but nothing too depressing. Tried to avoid swears for the most part. Really wanted to put Jakob - Sines on there, but some of the drums a just slightly too "menacing" for the funeral home. Tried Sigur Ros the other day too, and their songs are either just too slow, or too upbeat. Can't find that happy medium. Anywho, here's what I have so far. Anything you guys think would make you not want to use a funeral home/get offended in the list?: Alabama Shakes - Boys and Girls Band of Horses - Everything All the Time The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds Beach House - Devotion Damien Rice - O Death Cab For Cutie - Plans Dr. Dog - Fate Explosions In the Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place Fleet Foxes - S/T Francois Hardy - some sort of "best of" Jose Gonzales - In Our Nature Marvin Gaye - What's Going On? Neko Case - Fox Confessor Brings the Flood Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans The Zombies - Oddesey and Oracle

I actually had My Aim Is True on there at one point and took it off because I felt it was slightly too fast/upbeat on some songs. Slayer and Sleep I wish! The National could definitely make the cut. It's hard to keep in mind that modern stuff is ok, but that we have 80+ year old women and men coming in to bury their spouses, so even stuff that could maybe be ok I sometimes have to cut for whatever weird reason. There have been a bunch of albums where I had them on there and then all of a sudden they just didn't "feel" right. Neil Young will almost definitely make the next round. Probably a Feist album too. I was trying my best to get a Microphones or Mount Eerie album on there but I just don't think I can make it work :/ I can't remember what it was now, but I took something out earlier because the cymbals were too splashy. When I worked at the sandwich shop in high school I had a huge playlist of songs like this, so I could avoid the garbage we normally played, but wouldn't raise suspicion from my boss whenever he dropped in. Nothing too crazy. One night I was playing an early Black Keys album that was really bluesy, and I had a woman yell at me for playing "devil music".
