Any jazz reissues?

I'm willing to bet there's a load of stuff that noones really heard much of that is actually decent...

I'm interested in seeing a list or some pics... Metal would be neat, too.

THIS.

well, metal, not sure.  and jazz reissues - that would be AWESOME.

she said a lot of this stuff I've never heard of because it just never made it big.  my guess there will be more random unknown material than actual mainstream.

Just took a look at a roster of former bands.  Is there ANY Taproot or Audiovent?!  Definitely WANT those!

Searching for former bands can be tough cause you have to decipher what year something came out.

i'll ask about taproot... Gift would be nice on vinyl.  that'd be a straight promo though...

Bush Golden State? This exists on vinyl? Love that album, though I'm probably the only one.

I have a feeling there will be lots of promos - extremely limited quantities.

She was telling me she has a Smashing Pumpkins vinyl that was not released to public, but won't part.  That's her favorite band.

There is a lot of great stuff in that list. P.O.D. "...Southtown" was pressed? (Promo)? Also The Corrs are good, Matthew Sweet, Bush, Matchbox 20 "Mad Season" Pressed? (Promo)? It would be awesome if she had any other Matchbox 20 albums! Tori Amos too! I need to go and look over at the label page at Discogs to check. I know this is asking much but do you think she has access to tests?

I hope she finds a copy of Machina II. Tell her to sell immediately and become rich.

And by rich I mean 10-15k richer.

Thanks for sharing your amazing story of trust and friendship ... imho, collectibles are only the side show. Your friendship with this person is more valuable than any rare records/trinkets lurking in storage, and your thoughtful approach to handling everything will be golden.  May wisdom guide you through this once in a lifetime opportunity :)

Alright - small update. She gave me a briefing of what she thinks she has based on the promo cds she still has in her car. (she got copies of both cd and vinyl typically).  I hopped in her car today to scope it out... I jotted these down in my notes on my phone...

Matthew Sweet

Sugar Ray (14:59, possibly self titled from 2001ish)

Bush - Golden State, possibly Science of Things

POD - Fundamental Elements of Southtown

Poe

The Corrs?  (never heard)

Jump Little Children (never heard)

Trick Daddy (saw 2 albums, not sure what they were)

Fountains of Wayne - Utopia Parkway

STP - 4, Shangri...

Tori Amos (wasn't sure what)

Collective Soul

Atomic Fireballs

Kelis

Matchbox 20 - mad season

Craig David - has fill me in on it (per sticker on the vinyl)

Philadelphia Experiment??  not familiar

Everything But the Girl

...more incoming.

She said it's a project because her "barrel" is buried under stuff.  The photo I got shows mint sleeves/covers, so should be good.  Definitely some promo stuff. Also said that there are cds that she will give to me as well.  And if I am lucky some of the signed stuff since she has so much.

She acknowledged this stuff is worth money, she's not dumb.  Said in a text "The vinyl is probably worth a ton since they were not sold in stores for people who like these bands.  You're getting some cool stuff.  Merry Christmas!!!"

I'm not going to be pushing her to send me pictures as she is doing me a HUGE favor...so just be patient, my friends.  428874_10101020325915710_540681315_n.jpg

I bet you end up with some Hootie and the Blowfish albums.

Not to be a buzzkill, but a lot of that stuff you listed was never released on vinyl. People are requesting albums in this thread that don't exist on vinyl. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out which ones are with a little research. And these wouldn't be promos that weren't available to the public, it's just that there wasn't a ton of demand at the time. With the exception of some R&B/hip-hop stuff, those were oftentimes marked as promos.

I hope you hit the motherlode, though! If you end up with a bunch of 45s that nobody wants, let me know. I bought everything I wanted upon release but I can always throw them in the jukebox. They don't tend to be worth much.
