ajxd
Hey man there are hungry cancer research scientists in Atlanta, and you just flaunt these around? But really, awesome pieces. I read the write up in stereo times and enjoy the music, when you first mentioned wanting them,

tooclosetosee
Wealthy is all relative. Being in America (or any developed country), and pretty much being able to post things to this board using a computer or smart phone already puts you pretty high up on the global wealth chart. I'm not trying to bring anyone down and make you feel like crap. I'm just saying that we should all be appreciative for what we have and not feel inadequate for what others may have. http://www.givingwhatwecan.org/get-involved/how-rich-am-i JumpingBean, DC1221, dethrock and 3 others
allenh
My bank manager has told me to ignore shaizadas posts otherwise he will lock me in a room with the personal finance manager so he can bore me to death. Seriously nice amps though. I didn't look honest Mr bank manager sir.

I read the write up in stereo times and enjoy the music, when you first mentioned wanting them, I'm advocating world peace The world is a more peaceful place when I'm locked away in my listening room. I read those articles too, and then I borrowed a pair and brought them over to listen for some time. You know what happened next. jesus fuck there are some wealthy people here congrats! Not wealthy...just fortunate. I'm pretty sure there's just the one. I had to pull some strings, but I know a whole bunch of people that wouldn't even blink an eye before making a purchase like this. xxmartinxx
How do you like it so far? Does it work with 45s? It's loud and rotating by had is a little trickier than I had suspected, but I'm happy with purchase. I cleaned a 10" and it seemed to work fine so I'd think a 7" would be fine, too. The only thing is, i suspect the suction won't be as strong since a part of the vacuum portion is sucking in air. I suppose you could try to covering it with packaging tape or something for better results.

I don't think putting a piece of tape over half of the felt would damage if it's removed after doing a few records. I suppose you could also put a thin piece of cardboard over it. Whatever. allenh
The felt is there for a reason so it would still worry me using tape but you could make a simple plastic insert that fills part of the slot. Or do they sell different vacuum parts for it? I know they do for mine

JumpingBean
I got a pair of AKG K612s on Wednesday to use here at school with my Marantz integrated while I'm away from my Woo/Senneheiser rig. I'm about 15 hours in so far, and they're blowing me away. I've never heard such clarity and soundstage out of a sub-200 headphone. The treble is very extended and airy without being harsh, the mids are lush and detailed, and the bass is ridiculously deep and defined. These give my Senneheisers a run for their money (but they don't quiiitteee best them). I almost bought the Q701s, but Head-Fi seemed to think these were a better/more neutral can for less money, and I'm inclined to agree.I would highly recommend these to anyone with a good amp (they're 160 ohm and need some power), they won't disappoint. Falling in love with AKG Cans On the recent purchases topic I just built a whole new PC and instead of on board sound I splashed out on a Creative Soundblaster ZX and my god is it heavenly. allenh
I'm going to an audio jumble tomorrow which is a twice a year sort of hifi garage sale. I go in with a wad of cash and don't come out again until I have exchanged all the cash for shiny things, then I go down the pub for a pint and Sunday lunch. Usually a pretty good day all round. If I get anything any good I'll post some pictures.
JumpingBean
I spy a Modi in your picture. Is it USB or Optical? How do you like it? It's USB, It was a huge improvement from the audio-out of my computer. It really eliminated the boomynes and brought out more details and dynamics. I just picked up a Modi/Magni Schiit Stack and my god does it make my tunes sing. Have used with my Audio Technica AD1000x and AKG K701's, tis a world of difference. Surprised considering these are Schiit's base models *edit* Totally would take the setup above though haha
