mynameisdan Posted May 9, 2008 Share Posted May 9, 2008 i don't know where to put this, but i feel i should warn anyone thinking of doing what i did. i recently purchased (from ebay) a Clash - Bankrobber green flexi from some guy in Poland -- I knew it was bullshit but bankrobber is my friends favorite song by the clash and his birthday is coming up so i thought that even though its a bootleg (worse than a bootleg, really) it would be a good idea because all i wanted was that one song. I got it the other day, and its super super crappy. the needle/arm/everything is too heavy to hear anything but static, i could sorta make it out after turning the volume up to 40, but still mostly static. It depends on what turntables you use.If you have a turntables with solid platter (acrylic) it could be ok, but if you use, for example, a soft ring mat it's not easy to play correctly a flexi. I've an old Technics which has only a rubber ring mat and it's impossible for me to play a flexi without putting a vinyl record under.
