Twistedshabazz
Are the 4x4 always 90 bucks? Thought they were cheaper when i picked up my last one
maintreqd
My guess would be the 2x2 yes the 2x2 sorry. i often forget there's others; i've always liked the 2x2 the best because they're easiest to re-arrange/combine/split up as necessary when moving or just changing up your living room, etc.
futures
I picked up a 2x2 two weeks ago when I bought a new dresser. Saving it for a rainy day.
hippielauryn
Went to Ikea this weekend just so we could get another 2x4. It's a good 1 1/2 hours from where we live, but so worth it. Glad they still had some of these in stock, but there weren't many left.

kidamnesiac
Official: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/search/?query=kallax&category=products&range_subcategory=10382 Gotta get a white 5x5 Expedit before it's too late.
kurtz
I was at Ikea last weekend specifically to pick up a 5x5 expedit. Someone bought the last 4 they had in stock right before I got there. Had to settle for a 4x4 instead. I saw a few kallax's on the shelf already, but didn't see them displayed yet.
smeepo
The Kallax stuff doesn't look that much different and seems significantly cheaper. The 2x4 is $65 instead of $90. I am disappointed at the lack of selection. Hopefully they add the same things that Expedit had, like the workstation. Does anyone else wish they would make a 2x3 model? Ryan8765
Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm wondering if someone might give me a pointer. I have the 2x8 expedit connected to an L shape thing to form a desk. I want to get the 2x4 and add it to the desk, and move the 2x8 elsewhere. Basically my question is, are the heights of the Kallax and expedit 2x4s the same? I'd like to keep my desk leveled.BTW Kallax is 30.375 inch (771.525 mm) tall. Maybe someone is willing to give me the measurement of their 2x4 expedit.Anyway thanks to whoever responds.
dreamover
a 2x8?
TheGhostOfRandySavage
I thought I remembered there being a 1x2; was that a thing? I went in a couple weeks ago looking for one in either kallax or expedit and couldn't find one
Ryan8765
Well... yea... 2x8.... Maybe its more widely known as something else. It's like two 2x4s stacked together but as one unit. Anyway, that really makes no difference because I'm trying to get info on the height of a 2x4 expedit. BTW I'm not trying to sound snarky Dreamover. We both share love for the pumpkins. Ryan8765
OK! I see my issue. I'm looking for the height of a 2x2. I currently have a 2x4 attached to my desk... I'm just a dumbdumb.

chiefwahoo
I'm looking for the dimensions of the 4x4 Kallax still boxed to see what size car I'll need to take. Anybody have the box kicking around? According to Ikea's site, it might actually be in two separate boxes? Does that sound right?
HybridxReality
I really want to buy the KALLAX series, but there's no IKEA nearby. Closest one is a two-and-a-half hour drive away. Their shipping prices are stupid expensive, so I can't do that either. Just going to end up buying the Better Homes and Garden ones from Walmart. Free shipping when it's over $50 and they look sturdy. Only thing that bums me out is that I could get the IKEA ones for basically the same price. That sucks. According to Ikea's site, it might actually be in two separate boxes? Does that sound right? The 4x4 Expedit came in two boxes. I don't have the boxes anymore, but the bigger of the two was probably something in the ballpark of like 5ft x 2ft x 1ft. And the second box was about the same dimensions, just a bit shorter. I would assume the Kallax is packaged the same way. chiefwahoo
chiefwahoo
Thanks Kurtz. Ikea e-mailed me a response, so in the event anyone would need to know: The KALLAX 4x4 shelving units come in two packages: 59 ¾” x 16” x 6” | 56 ½” x 15 ¾” x 4”. The Vool
Bought a 2x4 Kallax a month after it came out and I'm satisfied...there's no huge difference between Kallax & Expedit
