maskedvigilante
I tried searching for this topic and couldn't find anything, so forgive me if this has already been done. That said, I think we all know a band where their most popular album is definitely not their best. A couple of albums come immediately to mind for me. Say Anything's ...Is a Real Boy (In Defense of the Genre is superior) blink-182's Enema of the State (Self-Titled) The Starting Line's Say It Like You Mean It (Based on a True Story) Underøath's They're Only Chasing Safety (Define the Great Line) What comes to mind for you guys? billya
Manchester Orchestra - Simple Math (Mean Everything to Nothing) I have to disagree with at least two of your picks for best album by a given band, though.
Team Avatar
simple math is M/O most popular? I personally think it's their best album and I love all three. METK is my least favorite of the three.
RivannaJunction
Would Jimmy Eat World count for this? Bleed American most popular and Clarity their best?

I feel like it is, not that any of their stuff is really mainstream. When I saw Andy as RA,GC! and when I saw Bad Books (both in different parts of the country) people kept calling out for songs off of Simple Math. I like all three, but I think that METN is the easiest to listen to start-finish for me.

The one that is really important to me is IDotG. Say Anything has been my favorite band for years now and I truly think In Defense is the superior album. That said, it's also my favorite album of all time. So there probably is a bit of a bias there.

I'm in the Futures crowd personally. But it definitely does count! cemeterytapes

There are too many songs on there for me to even begin to judge it as one cohesive work. Also, I'd say that I can't 100% get behind your picks for best Starting Line album (I'd stick with SILYMI or even go to Direction, depending on the day, but I feel like BOATS gets really corny) and blink-182. Just my opinion, though. For JEW - SO many people hold Clarity as a gem that I don't know that it isn't their most popular album among music fans, despite not being as commercially successful. NoFxpunkguy
For me blink 182 would be "Enama" is the popular and "Dude Ranch" is their best. I think "Self titled" is their worst album. But that's just my opinion...
