  1. Oh hell yeah!! What an awesome surprise. Was this announced previously? I haven't been following the Epitaph reissue threads too much.
  2. Hey John, sent you an email. Thanks again, that's a real cool offer. I've got a feeling the next track will sound great too. It's not really the style of music or genre that I like so much about Kill Hicks (though it's awesome) but again, I just find it really interesting. That's what I think is gonna hold true for the rest of this album. Thanks again!
  3. RULES. So glad you posted this. I saw something on Brooklyn vegan about these guys at the end of January (I guess when you announced their signing) and listened to Kill Hicks about six times in a row. Then I forgot to do anything else about it but pre-ordered as soon as I saw your thread this morning. I don't usually preorder anything after only hearing one song, but that song is just so good, these guys have a great sound. I hear a little AN and MLIW influence, not to mention some pretty classic 70s punk but so much else going on too. Just really interesting, which I find pretty rare and more than good enough to take a chance on. Also I saw on Facebook and bandcamp that you were sending out download links for Kill Hicks with preorders but didn't see that. Glitch or did you decide not to? No problem either way, thanks.
  4. And it's $13.00 from B9. I mean I know there's a recession, but if that $0.05 can be spared, would be cooler to buy from the label.
  5. It was bad enough when you were paying $25 for a 7". Paying $40 for it is nuts. And that's even if it shows up in due time or at all. Cuz I know nobody cares about the tshirt or the chance to buy expensive posters.
  6. Not saying you're wrong, but how does a single festival date indicate a tour?
  7. Yeah, that's why they had to put stickers on the jackets.
  8. Not sure how long it's been there, but Deathwish has the tour press up in the store.
  9. I'll give you points for trying to sound like a hipster, but stick to your guns, man. Don't stoop to their level. Just be true to yourself and call everybody a ho.
  10. Cautiously optimistic. Really did not like the last one, but loved everything before it. Regardless, great news that they are back.
  11. Man, that is some Joker level trolling on DG's part. I can't get that song out of my head now. So brilliantly sinister. Well done.
  12. Yeah, I think it's awesome. Not quite as interesting as Witness (or Fever Hunting) but there are some standout tracks. Screaming At The Moon is one of my favorites of theirs, as is the title track. Regardless, good for the label to repress. It makes sense to have all of their records in print given renewed interest in the band after the reunion.
  13. From Lifeline, posted last week: "A new pressing of Modern Life Is War's 'Midnight In America' LP is currently at the pressing plant! We are doing 1,000 copies to get this record back in print. There will be some modifications to the layout from pervious pressings, and 2 new vinyl colors as well! There will be a limited mail order edition and Equal Vision Records will be getting their own exclusive color as well. More details to come! Thank you for the support and look out for more news and releases in 2014!"
  14. Definitely don't think you're in the wrong at all, especially since you're very clearly not trying to make profit, but I am curious how this happens...
  15. If you've seen so many shows recently, then you've seen Nils going nuts with solos on Prove it all Night, Because the Night, and maybe a couple more. He's practically been doing a Morello impression the past few years. And he somersaults during it. Not saying I like that either (or the Morello addition all the time), but to act like there isn't precedent for this is wrong. And the Bruce of the 70s and 80s would have agreed with you? What the hell does that even mean? No two Springsteen records even sound alike so how do you even define what style is his? Plus, he soloed like crazy throughout the 70s and 80s and before the E Street Band was in pretty heavy hard-rock bands that jammed a bit. Point being, you don't have to like it (and as I've said in this thread already, I can leave most of it too), but don't suppose that it doesn't fit into the Bruce discography any worse than many of his other records.
  16. Totally. A whole bunch of people acting like this thing already sold out and they missed getting it at all. You can still order it!
  17. Why do they need to adjust the prices if you don't like them AFTER you paid them? A bigger point may have been made had you not made the purchase, but you instead proved that people will pay the price if they want the item bad enough. The fact that the price did not entail the records being delivered to your doorstep in a gold box is totally moot.
  18. Man, I only posted that to get the "This record sure is great, huh?" reply. Sorry for being a dick and asking a totally baited question and thanks for still responding in a decent way. I have no intention to sell my copy of this ever.
  19. Hey Toby while you're here answering questions, what color is the Menzingers RSD and how many were pressed? I have an eBay listing ready for a sealed copy but can't find the info. Thanks.
  20. No way this sounds better than the original. Those old Def Jam pressings are fantastic. And like others have said, they aren't that hard to come by for decent prices.
