I gave it a listen yesterday and at times I thought it reminded me of Riceboy Sleeps (Jonsi's more ambient side project), so pretty similar thoughts as you!

I ordered one album on 4/14 and received it 5/7. Your post reminded me of that order and it's been sitting in my apartment lobby since it was delivered... oops. All good though.

Posting for the star. Really enjoyed the last album. Looking forward to this one.
 

The MOV version doesn't have "Infinity" or "Precious and Grace". The latter being a ZZ Top cover with Billy Gibbons splitting vocal duties with Mark Lanegan and trading off guitar solos with Josh. That song alone was worth what I paid for the OG press haha.
 
Or you could try to find ZZ Top's Tres Hombres in the dollar bin and live with the non Mark & Josh original lol
 
Edit: Also, "Like a Drug" is up in the tracklist rather than tacked on the end like a bonus track.
 

To add to that, they also commented that Closer To Grey is Chromatic's 7th album, hence the VII on the artwork.  They indicated that Night Drive is IV, Kill For Love is V, and Dear Tommy is VI. I really hope it gets released some day.

Yeah I'm not sure. I just did the monthly sub at one point in the past (it was for Fiona Apple's Tidal to be able to get that VMP variant of the latest Fleet Foxes album then cancelled right after). This is my first time back with VMP since. I don't know if I even have the ability to get that crate sub.
 

Sorry to not fully understand this, but could someone clarify for me please? I currently have the ability to re-up and get the month-to-month subscription. Do you think if I don't do it this month for Soft Bulletin that I won't be able to re-up as month-to-month next month for SFTD? I don't want Soft Bulletin and I don't want to do a 3-month sub, but do want SFTD.
 
 

Def sad she's no longer a part of the band and I'm very happy I got to see her with them on the HUWD tour, but based on youtube vids I've watched, the lady who took her place for the Junk tour has got some pipes. Best example I can remember is her on vocal duty for when they'd play the Oblivion song. I felt like she did it justice (although that's Susanne Sundfor on that track) from watching those vids as they'd be uploaded during the tour.

The tracklisting in the teaser shows A, B, C, D sections but the preorder on Mute doesn't indicate it as a 2xLP. I hope it is, if it means a  longer album length.

Will most likely buy this to keep the collection intact, aside from some of the singles and those soundtracks other than Oblivion.
 
Was watching a doc about the moon landing on PBS last night and they used Outro at one point, thought to myself I haven't listened to M83 in awhile, and boom this happens. Guess I'm going on an M83 kick again lol

That was me. The wiki still says it, but in the "Background" section where it's referenced saying "they have been 'adapted for a bit more of an organic, indie rock template', with vocals from Saint Sinner on five of the album's eight tracks", that linked site on magneticmag.com must've changed because it doesn't mention it anymore... wonder if that has something to do with the initial backlash of vocals on pink & blue... the Tycho guy also made some post on the their facebook page talking about the reactions to that single so maybe something is happening.
 

Yep those are the ones I use too. Totally worth the $14. I've used them at least 20 times now so far. Just gotta get used to them "turning everything down" a little bit, but once that happens, it does make the music sound more "clear" in a way. And ear protection of course!

The record is in, and damn is it good. Like all good Hot Snakes, it makes me scowl and bob my head. Maybe shred some air guitar. The answers to life's biggest questions may even be hidden here. So glad they're back. 

Yeah, mine looks pretty much exactly like the promo photos on the VMP website as well. One disc has a bit more cloudiness to it than the other, but both have a lot of the splatter. Still haven't listened yet though, I got distracted the night I was going to.
 

The bonus item is a limited hand-numbered lithograph of this thread (up to October 10th, 2017). That is why they couldn't reveal the contents, because the 'content' of the contents hadn't been written yet. The idea is that when Jesse and the band break up in 2018, we will become the authors. We will all be Brand New.

I don't have the green variant, but I have the purple variant and I always thought it sounded great. I don't recall any physical pressing issues either. I haven't spun it for a long time, but if I have time this weekend I'll do that and report back.
 

GY!BE, DMST, and BSS all releasing albums this year. Thank you Canadian post-rock scene. We don't deserve it.
 
 

Juturna is one of the best albums ever...definitely start there.
