Imagine defending being a flipper

No one is making a living off of flipping records.  If they are I feel sorry for the small budget they are living on.  That being said every flipper I know LOVES the product they are selling.  I flip records so that I can afford to buy other records.  AKA what collectors have been doing in the hobby for decades.  Record stores can barely stay afloat selling records, more less some guy that is buying the /100 variant of a record to flip so that he can afford a copy to keep for himself.

I hope we still do this in our 50s.

Evidently the scheme was not acceptable as spotify pulled the album and changed their rules so other bands couldn't do the same thing.
But props to any band that can do something creative like that to cover their costs of touring.

I can see it both ways, but I would think that maybe doing it with this pricing and then have some type of raffle which would allow you to purchase 1 tp when it's your turn. Idk, but I'm sure there's a better way to do it than a free for all

Age of Adz is the best record for repeat listening....so I have high hopes for this new one.

Age of Adz is my favorite Sufjan album by a lot, so I think I'm going to enjoy this. I'm not going to listen to it until the official album release though.

Like so many well-intentioned plans this year, COVID-19 derailed our timeline a little bit.

We know you’ve been waiting - a length of time we never want to make you wait - and believe us, we’re frustrated right along with you. We know that isn’t an excuse, but it’s important to us that you know it is not our intention to do you wrong.

Manufacturing non-essential goods across several industries has been understandably and unavoidably delayed; to be perfectly honest, when we set out with this release, in a way we would do with any other, we did not expect to encounter the setbacks we have.

That being said, things are moving forward, just not as quickly as any of us would like.

At this time, we expect the first single in your Vinyl Club membership to go out in early August.

We’ll be sending you all the details about your first shipment, including the track listing and a sneak peek at the art, later this month. We can tell you that it’s going to feature a pair of live tracks from our visit to the hallowed grounds of Castle Donington back in 1987.

We’ll also notify you as soon as your shipment leaves our warehouse.

We have some cool things on deck for the additional three 7” singles coming your way, and have made adjustments to the schedule so that singles two, three, and four don’t take so long - at least that’s our plan!

I always thought it was weird their most successful album (Blackout went platinum in 2013) never got pressed and it's the only album not pressed. I'd definitely buy it.
