aopps42 reacted to jonnywreck in PO (03.16. 11AM EST): Saves the Day - In Reverie (2nd press) (PGR004)
Just wanted to say I got this and, after using my PayPal balance, was charged $6.66 from my debit.
So thanks, Satan.

Random side note. Just me or does it seem like aftermarket for everything generally is also higher recently. I feel like people just said "more collectors now, raise the price." Seems like when I started collecting, OOP records were $50-60 if uncommon and $100 for rare stuff, now it's more like $100 and $200-300.

You never know and you’ve obviously been collecting for a long time, maybe one day you get lucky.

I do order a decent amount from BM for preorders, but when I see the B2G1 sales, my logic and reason tends to go out the window.

I finally opened my copies of all 3 EPs and they have the largest warps I’ve ever seen in a looong time. And they all play perfect. Bravo, Mondo!

This is an excellent, articulate response. Well done. The only words I could come up with were “fuck off.”

Yes, I am aware how these things work. But what you just told me, right here, is that if someone requests a record be shipped a certain way(if you refer to my initial post, that’s all I asked), you or whatever fulfillment company you use, won’t act on that request because a record is sealed? And that you hope “minimal” damage occurs? There should be no damage if done correctly.
I know y’all go through Second City and they’re really good at honoring requests/notes, and even rectifying situations where something is damaged in transit. But that response... haha

Tbh, your entitlement is kinda bogus. These things take time and effort, and you’re just assuming that they can handle requests of that magnitude even during a pandemic when most businesses are functioning at lower capacity. If this company were to take specific requests from every individual that orders from them, the amount of problems that could arise are astronomical. Try to consider things like this when kicking and screaming certain services be rendered in order to prevent something that MIGHT happen.

aopps42 reacted to ZeroNowhere in HUM - Electra 2000 & YPAA Reissues
Hi all, First off, the band sincerely appreciates all of the generous support and kind words we've received after releasing Inlet. We're not the best at responding, but it means a lot. So thanks again, from all of us! Over the last few months, we've successfully navigated through some licensing stuff allowing us to re-release updated versions of Electra 2000, and You'd Prefer An Astronaut on vinyl. Our plan involves re-mastering and cutting higher quality pressings of these two records. We'll post another update once we iron out all of the details on release dates, label, etc... Since we've seen some inflated prices on the secondary market for our older records, we wanted to let people know as soon as possible. If folks don't mind waiting a little longer, we'll be able to produce a higher quality pressing that we have control over, and are proud of. We'll also have more copies of our Downward is Heavenward re-issue available in the near future as well. We hope you all are healthy and well, and 2021 turns out to be a little easier for everyone. Take care. -Tim -

For users of VMP, would you say they price their subscription boxes reasonably? If not, what is a reasonable price you'd pay?

aopps42 got a reaction from MCDELTAT in PO: New Found Glory - S/T 20th Anniversary (FINALLY)
I have about 7 or 8 records stuck in limbo from the beginning of the month. No updates on any of them, I assume after the holidays these will start moving. I assume media stuff gets the least priority when the USPS is overwhelmed.

aopps42 got a reaction from verb1999 in PO: New Found Glory - S/T 20th Anniversary (FINALLY)
I would have guessed Mondo would be better at shipping vinyl since that’s what they do. Both this and the D/C EP have the start of seam splits at the top and bottom. This isn’t hard, yet remains impossible for most to do correctly. I don’t get it.
