Only just found out about this band, and loving what I have heard of the new record. Probably good and bad I missed the variant pre orders, but white is still available over here.

So, it came.
All complaints are warranted and valid.
But...
This thing is fucking sick.
(I have no idea where I'm gonna put it)
Also, it's packed very smartly. My box was all kinds of fucked up from transit, but the foam layer around the boxset saved it.
It was worth the $500. 

7 songs, 42 minutes LP. First song premiered on Daniel P Carter show and up Spotify at midnight May 4th.

I've been comparing some of the first pressings with the boxset.
Here's what I found:
-Boxset sound quality is superior across the board
-Cover art is more vibrant than on older pressings, and the deloused jellyfish artwork for the boxset is a different take than the one used on the mov pressing
-For the most part, materials used on the originals are of better quality. Especially ftm. The original is like cardboard whereas the boxset version is flimsier
-Vinyl weight is noticeably heavier on older pressings
-Landscape Tantrums is awesome
 
Overall, the boxset is sweet. You can tell a lot of heart went into making the music and artwork shine. 
It'd be nice to have an At the drive in boxset to accompany this one, but after reading the boxset liner notes, I doubt that's ever going to happen.
 
 

Talked myself out of it the first time around due to owning all of the separates apart from Bedlam, but then reading the interview with Omar and seeing it had all been remastered (which I didn’t feel was initially clear), I needed it. Was just a tad too late for the EU store, so very stoked to have managed to grab one from the drop that went live today!

Also, some of you lazy sumunabeetches need to get on adding it to Discogs. I'm trying to check it out and nada.
 
It has now been added. There are so many sides. My god, I don't know where I am going to store this thing. 

Listened to the Talk Is Jericho podcast with Andy on it. Will have to say I'm not into professional wrestling in the least bit even knowing Andy from ETID, but was great discussion they had. As well as some peeling back of the curtain behind Andy's decision to recently become a wrestler (which had always baffled me). 
 
Anyways, an extra album related tidbit is he confirmed it is a double album with 18 songs...18....1....8....

Finally after all these years we get Mr. Muggs in full studio quality on 180g black audiophile vinyl. I am glad they left Frances the Mute and Rubin's Concertina to fit this masterpiece in the set twice.

Got my box set today. Can’t wait to spin it and new Godspeed this weekend. 

I pre-ordered these about 5 months ago and still waiting.
I have a second press of Separation and a first press of TTWTWM and I'm really hoping the pressing quality is increased. They aren't un-listenable, but man these records deserve so much more.

This record is my AOTY. Masterpiece.

I've been scrobbling religiously since 2006 - from iTunes, iPhone, Spotify, and anytime I listen to an album on vinyl or CD on something other than my computer, I'll scrobble it afterwards. 233,217 scrobbles to date.
 
They really fucked up the launch of the site overhaul. REALLY fucked up, and lost a lot of users in the process. Since then, they've slowly brought back a lot of features, but the damage was already done. Some of the things that still piss me off to this day:
 
Complete lack of social integration on home and profile pages. There is no way to see what others are listening to and strike up conversation without going to individual people's profiles. And without some kind of feed, what draws you to anyone's profile? Not much. Really, really dumb move on their part, when a feed of some sort would be really easy to implement.  The forums are on a separate site now and focused purely on support. You even need a different login. Again, no social aspect to this. Inability to add events. I used to use the site to keep track of upcoming shows I was interested in. Now, still no way to add stuff, which means nothing's there.  Recommendations: There used to be a visible bio for each artist, now it's just the image and similar artists, and you have to click in to read anything about the band. Also you can't dismiss recommendations anymore. They just stay there and update once in a while. The "Live" page widgets are fucking useless as they focus on trending music that has nothing to do with your own interests. If only this was catered to individual users' tastes and their friends, this would be a REALLY cool page, and where social interaction would be initiated. They totally dropped the ball here. So all that said, they've made some unfathomably stupid decisions over the last few years, but I'm still a music nerd and like to see my own stats. My ultimate dream would be if Spotify bought last.fm (still allowing you to scrobble via iTunes and the like, of course) as they're doing much cooler stuff with data, and actually care more about social integration even though they still have a ways to go too.
