My USPS tracking number states package was processed thru Providence. Definitely getting something next week. Can't wait.

mac1 got a reaction from Snaggle Von Swift in Taylor Swift - Red
Some have the Mailer, that was used to send out the LP's, or box and tend to sell for more with the promo information. Wild price swings will vary by auction or BIN on ebay. I got one of the $40 copies on red vinyl, in an auction, that was in a standard gatefold with bar code slashed. And will make a great Christmas present.

Another problem with records -- they are associated with those who lean left (hippies, indie kids, etc) but are made from petroleum and use fossil fuels to be manufactured and shipped, while an MP3 causes a fraction of the environmental impact and often has a higher margin of the sales price going to the struggling artists who we are trying to support.

If you're buying records for the sound, you're doing it wrong.
What color is it?

Opened my dispute yesterday, I wonder how many of those box sets will go back up for sale haha

I opened a dispute on the 12th, and looks like I will be able to escalate it to a claim on the 17th if they dont respond. Does anyone know if all of these claims will freeze their PP account?

Beck - Midnight Vultures. Must have bought ($28) and sold ($40) about 5 copies over six months when Newbury had them a few years ago. For some unknown reason I sold my last copy of an album I thoroughly enjoy.

I ordered a box set before the announced the individual sales. I really just wanted S/T and Blue, so I ordered them. I am currently trying to cancel my order (sent emailto the 3EB store) and also opened a dispute with Paypal to see if that will get them to respond. If I can't get my money back, you can bet that I will be seling my box set on ebay. If I turn a profit, so be it, but I will at least get my money back.

mac1 got a reaction from moonbeams in Am I being squeezed by an eBay member?
1. No. You are not protected, the buyer always wins.
2. Yes. The buyer always wins.
example A: USPS loses your supremely packaged LP, with tracking, but without insurance. Just suddenly vanishes from the tracking system. You lose the LP, buyer gets money back, ebay gets fees.
example: Manufacturing errors. Sending sealed LP's to the "new brand of collector" who then opens the record, doesn't like the shade of color, slight ding in the corner or there is a slight warp due to manufacturing packaging. Demands a full refund because the record is not perfect. You pay return shipping and now have a opened, slightly warped record to resell. Buyer washes hands, gets money back. You lose.
Ebay is for buying. Need to look into discogs for selling.

If the press covered Obama the way they’d cover a GOP President who did this kind of thing, he’d be toast. But they don’t, because they’re on his team. Just think of them as Dem operatives with bylines and you won’t go far wrong.

You will not be able to find some great GBV on vinyl, like Bee Thousand and Kid Marine, but Under the Bushes and Alien Lanes have been reissued and are about $20 each. My favorite side project is by far Boston Spaceships with three releases including the delicious "Planets are Blasted", currently on amazon for under $13 with Autorip.
Sign up at Rockathon Records and RobertPollard.com to keep up to date on the never ending releases.
On the "for sale" front, I not only have the 3 LP's above new, sealed and available but have about 40 other Pollard, GBV, Boston Spaceships, etc. sealed LP's sitting in a bin waiting for the right buyer. My first purge about 5 years ago got rid of the very rare LP releases. Never got an original Propeller but kept the Briefcase 2 Test Press in a safe place. Good luck. contact [email protected]
Lastly. Saw a great GBV show at Middle East Downstairs in 2004 (?) with Detroit's Slumber Party opening. Funniest memory is of my friend, who had never heard of the band or seen Pollard's on stage activity, say that Robert would probably be a good punter in the NFL. We both laughed when I told him RP was a pretty good pitcher in school.
