Considering their shipping fees are craaaaaaaazy, I'll be looking ordering this Rough Trade version. Amazing news - I've been waiting for a followup for so long. Pino is probably one of the most beautiful albums I have in my collection, and all of Sonic Pieces stuff is phenomenally well-made. Thanks for the heads up! I checked SP's instagram and looks like it's going to be limited to /350. Gonna go quick....hopefully I don't miss the preorder announcement.

Alright, so I was definitely late to the Julien party but this album is beautiful. I was hesitant to listen because there has been so much hype around this album, and sometimes that heavy expectation can really affect how you listen but I'm glad I did. As someone who had never heard of her, or her voice, or her solo-guitar trademark before, the album really hits hard. Her songwriting is reminiscent of a lot of early/mid-2000s indie stuff that helped me get into music - and that style isn't really around anymore. It's nice to return to that state of mind, especially with the subject matter on this album. But, I can totally understand everyone's criticism of the album being more of the "same". After hearing her earlier work, it's easy to compare the two albums and think there's very little change going on but I still don't think that takes away from the impact of TOTL. The production is also top-notch on this one, it sounds incredible.

Awesome. That version of One Day I'll Be On Time is beautiful, caved and ordered a copy despite the crazy price with shipping. It's always been my favourite of his, really looking forward to December now!

The "we" isn't a wrong note, but he's definitely straining on at the beginning of his pronunciation of "relate". It's not that bad though, and the notes still fit.

Can confirm this statement. I never understood the hype surrounding this band until I started to get older and took the time to listen carefully. Started at Boxer and now I absolutely love all of their records, for different reasons. As I got older, everything sort of clicked and I finally got it. I still don't know exactly what I got, but the National just make sense. Even more so as I get closer to reaching the big 3-0.

Turns out the noise is actually part of the recording. It's faint but you can hear it pretty well with headphones on. I was driving today, listening to the songs again and noticed I could still hear it. It sounds almost like distorted drum brushes. Very distracting during the quiet parts!

That's why I'm confused. If it is part of the recording, it's fucking annoying.

Managed to grab a copy on my way home from work. I'm really bummed out because I've been waiting since the announcement to finally sit down and listen to the whole thing. But I'm currently spinning side A on the white pressing and there's a very annoying scratching noise/really harsh surface noise throughout, only on the left channel. Most noticeable at the beginning of the first and second track. Tested various other records thinking it may have been dust on the needle or tracking force was off but it's only this record. Anyone else? On a side note, they (and Pentagram) really hit it out of the park in terms of packaging for this. The little debossed logo on each insert is a beautiful detail.

These guys are still around? Not to sound like a horrible human being, but I really thought the lead singer would've OD'd or something by now. I remember him being an absolute mess back in the mid-2000s. EDIT: Obviously glad to see he didn't, and that they're still making music. Good for them!

New song is great. Love the synth hook and really nice to hear Dan leading this single! In the past I've leaned more toward Spencer-lead songs but Valley Boy was way too similar to his solo stuff. But this sounds like Wolf Parade.

They've always reissued stuff, even the smaller releases. But I do remember reading this on their old site as well. I think maybe that was for the very limited copies of things? Like the colour presses? I've never seen those reissued. Or maybe it's just a way to keep the label afloat these days. Still, this release is good news. Seems like a very personal reissue with a lot of Olafur's friends involved in the process.

Anybody know what's on the DVD? *Nevermind, got to excited and didn't read the full description. And any Canadian links? This is awesome news!

Went to see Sigur Rós last night at Place des Arts in Montreal and picked up one of the limited show posters. The poster itself was done by a Montreal-based artist, Slep (http://slep.info/), and was being sold at the Toronto and Montreal shows. It's a really nice piece and the two-colour silkscreen gives it a lovely texture. This is the first show/tour poster I've ever bought, mainly because the concert was absolutely phenomenal and this is a great memory to have. Pictures of the poster here

Strange. I've seen them five or six times and every show has been dead quiet. Sometimes crowds just suck, I guess. Also, had no idea Mono were in town in April. Really bummed about it. Where/how do you guys keep up with bands' tours? I'm find it a lot harder to do these days, even with all the social media around.

This is so awesome. Thanks for the pictures, it's really neat to see inside and just makes me want to take a trip there even more. Were you able to just pick up whatever record and put it on or is there some sort of playlist they've got going on? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just fascinated by the concept and I love the label. Also, I wonder what came first, the metal sculpture or the Eternal Something artwork by Shaz Madani?

Crazy jealous. My girlfriend's currently in London and I asked her to stop by and pick me up some stuff while she's there but she's not really into records so I'm doubting that she'll end up going Seems a bit far for a quick trip, too. How was it? Did you have a chance to stay awhile and listen to some stuff? Also, what's on the bottom right? Don't recognize it.
