  1. I've been listening to a lot more music lately, but I've also been digging into different genres and letting YouTube Music's Radio feature do whatever the hell it wants. Feels like genres that were more popular here over the last decade have all become stagnant, I'm getting a lot of enjoyment from more poppy/hipper/jammy bands like PALACE and Khruangbin.

    With LPs costing $40 a pop these days, digital music has become more prevalent in my listening habits, and although it's not ideal it's more practical. I'm almost reverting back into late-90's piracy brain where I'd dive into a ton of new music because paying $25 for a CD is absurd and the risk/reward is non-existent.

    They’re doing an In Reverie / Can’t Slow Down tour.  Really hoping for a Can’t Slow Down reissue.  Wanted that for years.

    CSD is the only record I've ever paid triple digits for, but this was a sealed copy, and this was 13 years or more ago. These days it would probably have cost more than my mortgage.

    Edit: and when I say triple digits I mean like $101, not $999 lol

    Didn't really like the last full length but digging the singles off this one so far. I'll hold out for an indie exclusive or whatever I can pick up secondhand.

    It took a while for that record to click with me, but I actually really like it a lot now. A Big Day For Grimley is one of my favorite AJJ songs ever. That record dropped at a time where the entire nation was at peak TDS, and I always felt like Sean Bonnette took a more anarchist approach to everything, hearing him go steadfast in one direction was odd. Don't get me wrong, I still think songs like Psychic Warfare are cringe city, but I can see he was going full force at the established power opposed to general statism, which is what I was used to.

  5. Liking this Tropic Morning News song, especially since it's more guitar focused. I really don't like the SoundCloud rapper 'piano over digital drums' stuff they've done with Weird Goodbyes and the last 2 LPs. I probably still have a sealed copy of I Am Easy To Find sitting around somewhere because I blindly pre-ordered it then hated the singles lol. Anyways, I doubt this new record will be another Trouble Will Find Me, but if they're revisiting that style and before then I'm interested in hearing this new album.

    So optimistic, especially if you're listening to their older stuff. I kept hoping they would find that SOS/59 sound and it just kept getting worse and worse. I know people absolutely love their later stuff, but man, that early stuff is such a different sound. I'm not holding my breath, but I'm open to being surprised and wouldn't be too stubborn to buy their new album if it's anything close to their first couple records:)
    @Shitty Rambo

    I actually despised Get Hurt until late last year lol. It still isn't a go-to album for me, but I have a better understanding of what they were aiming for and can appreciate that record for what it is. With that being said, it sounds like they had more negative feelings towards their later material which was the main reason they took a hiatus. Can't imagine this next record will be a Get Hurt 2 in that case.

  7. Hearing BF repeatedly mention Leatherface and Drug Church, then say on a scale of "Local Honey to Slayer" the new material is an "8" has me very excited to hear what they're cookin' up. Been listening to a lot of TGA lately, specifically Senior and the Queen + Sink or Swim, I'm actually really looking forward to this new record.

    Not in the Discord, but saw the Twitter post that is lacking any of the passive aggressiveness displayed here. Funny to see the difference between the more publicly viewed post and this one.

    Have always loved Topshelf and will continue to support them, but I really feel like if there were any orders to make sure were fulfilled completely, it would be the AGBPOL vinyl that we have had ordered for almost 18 months at this point. Yes, I know most of it was out of their control. Yes, I am coming off a bit spoiled and entitled here. Yes, is it the end of the world to wait another month or so? No, not really.

    But to say I am not disappointed and rubbed the wrong way a little by the Discord post, especially after all of the updates over the past few months insisting they were coming in and shipping soon, and having to check in on my order regularly because there was never any public update that the splatter and black were delayed, would be a lie.

    You've got a point. Kind of a weird energy to have towards people he was asking for donating a couple months ago. I'm sure this has been a stressful situation, but let's not forget this is a risk all labels (or businesses in general) take when they outsource work.
