Only have one complete listen thus far, but right away I can say this isn't as straight-up aggressive as their previous releases, especially early in the record. There are moments of chaos that seem to be emphasized by the longer passages of dulled vocals and eerie guitar work, but it doesn't bust out of the gate like The Task,  Image of Control (I), or Thorn in the Lion's Paw. It will take some time to digest, as per usual with Sumac. But I will be interested to hear other people's thoughts when they get their copies.
 
On a different note, I kinda wish Thrill Jockey would have made this a gatefold and charged a little more if necessary, tbh. The inner cardboard sleeve arrived with the glue already worn away, so I will need to repair that at some point. And the outer cardboard sleeve is just big enough that it makes it tricky putting it in a poly sleeve. But the records themselves look and sound fantastic.
 
Lastly, if anyone is worried about their copy taking too long to arrive and would like my download code, lemme know.

They are not up....For what i remember the 200 and 300 are european exclusive and Nothing official euro store is Evil Greed, but don't know if they will be avalable there only....

Appreciate that being sorted out.  Sounds like he already used up the first strike so hopefully that’s good riddance.  Freshman year of highschool can be intimidating and stressful on its own, and with some states enforcing a return to campuses, I sympathize with the angst... but there’s really no excuse for that kind of extremity.  Thread has stayed chill and enjoyable for 10+ pages outside of that and I’m eager to read everyone’s hype on the album as it draws closer, and their thoughts when it finally releases.  Oh, and shipping notifications.  The best part of any PO thread.
 
Additional single rumored to drop 9/4, by the way.  I expect it to be a heavier cut to compliment this last one.

Imagine all labels adapting this mentality.  Flippers would increase their resale price to make a wider profit margin if $40 LPs were the new norm, and it’s not hard to fathom the cycle ramping up from there.  Picture someone like Mondo or VMP implementing a direct rarity-to-price ratio... where they’re aware that a $30 exclusive is guaranteed to sell out in hours and fetch big bucks on Discogs shortly after, so they assign a $70 price-tag to “offset” the difference.  With this approach, everyone is punished.  You’re essentially saying that it’s “business savvy” for true fans and vinyl enthusiasts to pay an extra $10+ per record, to make up for the minority of greedy assholes.  It’s disturbing to me that anyone’s grasp of the hobby could be that impaired in the year 2020.  I hope and pray you never have any kind of influence or input on any release I may be interested in down the road.

Dumbest thing I’ve read on VC in quite a while, and that is no small feat.

I think Robin is not so super into all shop stuff and more managing the bands. Good luck to you, though. I need to get over there myself and pick up quite a lot as well, but work's keeping me busy.
